I've been building new cages for my tiny Serama chickens. These latches are perfect! I wasn't able to open the spiral keychain end, but no worries! I just used a small zip tie to attach them. For rabbits, rats or other chewers it would be easy to use some wire - or maybe you won't have a problem using the little spiral keychain attachment pieces.

Perfect to latch my quail grow out cages. They are 19 Guage mesh wire with half inch mesh.UPDATE: I haven’t used these clips but for 3-4 months on my cages in an indoor bird aviary. I first noticed they were rusting and now I have them breaking. They look galvanized but they are not what they appear to be. I will not buy these again and I will not recommend to purchase them either. See pictures above. Every single one rusted quickly. I scratched my hand on one while cleaning one of my cages and the rust concerned me so I am getting rid of every single one of them. I found stainless steel ones on Ganazono here on Amazon and they are shiny and much easier to work with taking on and off. Better quality than these and not really much more being that they should last and not rust or break.
