Useful and Collapsible!
I had one of these for years, before it finally cracked.I couldn’t believe Amazon carried the same (slightly updated) model. The spinner works great, and we use it often. Best part, which I really needed because of lack of storage space, it’s collapsible! Very easy to use, clean, and store!

A perfect size and foldable.
I purchased this lettuce spinner to replaced a large spinner that I had. It works beautifully and I really like that it doesn't take up a large space in my refrigerator and I can fold it so it take up even less space in my cabinet. Very well made and a good buy.

Great for limited storage space!
This salad spinner is much more convenient than my previous OXO brand spinner. It’s not quite the same level of quality (the spinning mechanism on the lid) but it gets the job done. My lettuce is always dry after several spins. I love how it collapses for easy storage which was the selling point for me. It’s top rack dishwasher safe as well!

It Really Works! UPDATE about Dishwasher Safe
Update after a couple of years use: It still works and I still give it 5 stars, BUT, I have to take back a bit of what I wrote originally. The spinner isn't completely dishwasher safe. I put the inner basket on the bottom rack, by mistake, and it got a warp on one side, it's flat on the side that was facing down for about 3 inches. This has led to a couple of problems. First, a tear has started developing in the inner basket at the flattened part that is slowly getting worse as I collapse and un-collapse it. Second, because of the flattened side it doesn't spin quite as well as it once did...still spins if I position the basket just so, but doesn't do as good a job as it once did. I still think this spinner is fine in the dishwasher ON THE TOP SHELF, though. And everything else I wrote about it I still stand by.I've used this a dozen times in the last couple of months and it hasn't disappointed me once! This is a 3 in one device: 1. it's a salad spinner and it does a good job at that; 2. it's a colander for when a quick rinse is all you need; and 3. it's a bowl, just right to hold a salad for 2 or 3 people. To top it off, it really does collapse into a small easily stored disc, and every part of it is safe in the dishwasher...and gets clean even when collapsed! Now, I've had a more expensive, bigger salad spinner for years and it still works just fine, but that one is big, difficult to store and although you can put the bowl and colander into the dishwasher just try getting either into the top rack. This old baby only got used every month or two. It's much easier to pull the Progressive CSS-2 out of the cabinet, pop it open and use it. Now I have salads a couple of times a week rather than once or twice a month. Some folks say it's hard to open, close and use, but it hasn't been hard at all for me, nor any other member of the family. So far I've seen nothing that would stop the Progressive CSS-2 from being a Five Star buy. I'm even buying another as a gift. How well will it last? Heck! I don't know, but 2 months of pretty heavy use and it looks to be good as new. If it only lasts a year or two it will be worth the price and it might last a lot longer than that. Time will tell.

Holds an entire heat of lettuce and spins it almost dry
Years ago I bought the original version of this spinner--the one with the green collapsible ring. I loved it!!! I could fit an entire head of green leaf lettuce in it, wedge it into the corner of my sink, and crank it so fast that the lettuce was almost dry with a 10-second spin. Over the years, however, dark areas began to appear in random places on the green ring. I tried everything to remove them, but nothing worked. I'm sure that was my fault for not thoroughly drying it before storing it. After many years of good service, the collapsible ring began to deteriorate, so I had to find another spinner.Little did I know at the beginning of my search that not all salad spinners are equal. Because my old Progressive Prepworks spinner did not have a mechanism extending down into the bowl, an entire head of lettuce could fit inside. But most of the other spinners have mechanisms extending into the bowls, limiting space in side the bowl itself. That also meant the spinner itself took up a lot of space in my cabinets. Again, another long search for a good spinner. The OXO got good reviews, but try as I might pumping that handle as fast as I could, I couldn't get it to spin fast enough to get the water off the lettuce. In addition, it wouldn't hold a full head of lettuce. This grey edition of the Progressive green spinner is probably the best out there but it's a little more difficult to spin. I don't know why, but it takes more effort than the green one so I can't get the lettuce as dry. So given a choice between it and its predecessor, I'd take the green one. But compared to all the others I looked at, it's the best.

This is a great product
this is a great spinner. I have never owned one before and love that it collapses to flat for storage.

Loved it so much I repurchased it!
I had this same collapsible salad spinner for several years before the inner basket began to crack on me. As a tiny apartment dweller this collapsible spinner is perfect since I don’t have a lot of cabinet space to spare for gadgets. If you’re like me and need a spinner that’s both effective yet compact, this one can’t be beat.

Good idea but doesn't hold up.
Great because it collapses and saves space. But the inner spinner cracked within a few months when I folded to put away.
