Plastic mounts are great, you can even tweak the aiming after mounting. My Arduino robot loves them.

Erratic readings but nice, cheap module for playing with
I found it to be relatively easy to set up and install. However, I have noticed that the readings can be quite inconsistent and can give off false measurements for anything further than 3 meters.While the sensor works well for shorter distances, it can be unreliable for longer distances. It's important to keep this in mind when using the sensor for projects that require accurate distance measurements.Overall, the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor Module is a decent product that works well for shorter distances. However, if you need more accuracy over longer distances, it might be worth considering a different sensor.I used it with a NodeMCU Arduino board to detect when my car is in the garage.

Home Automation Must Haves
I use one of these to monitor my water softener salt tank. I programmed it with home assistant to let me know when my tank is getting near empty so I don’t run out of salt.
