Best valued wheel set with round spokes and carbon fiber hub on the market.
First, my bike mechanic has a multi thousand feet high tech machine shop that includes laser cutting plasma CNC etc. he also operates other businesses one was a bike shop for 20 years. On the side he loves to work on bicycles for 40 years but not for everyone he’s close to retiring and he’s thinking about doing this more on a full-time basis. When I sent this wheelset to him and a new set of tires from Continental and tube set he could not believe the quality of these wheel sets. Particularly at this price saying that they should easily cost 2 to 3 times more. He has access to the 17 largest bicycle warehouses in the United States and he said he could not even come close to this price within $800. He was so impressed with the quality of these wheels and he said they ran true when tested upon arrival and he made no adjustments to having the wheels run true. The wheel set that I purchased has a drop out for a 9 mm axle not a through axle my bicycle is 3 years old so the more modern bicycles or the more high end bicycles have the through type axles. Be very careful of what you are buying it was difficult for me to understand this until my mechanic explain this to me and I did some reading and research and then it became abundantly clear what the difference was. This seller helped me immensely with conversations back-and-forth to make certain that I had the right axle for this bicycle. I worked for two months almost with other sellers on different platforms that could not accommodate me and even they were confused about the differences in drop axles and through axles and kept misdirecting and misleading me that their wheel sets would fit my bicycle but after my mechanic looked at their descriptions and correspondence it was clear to him that they were mistaken that that their wheel set would work. The seller is five star plus! I got sidetracked but nevertheless my bike man is the best and can even make bicycles. He installed for me a new set of Continental Gatorskin tires 700 X 25C - 60 mm Presta valve, $117.00 with tax at Amazon. He placed the pressure at 120 psi into Continental racer tubes and I thought the bike was going to feel every pavement crack but I was totally wrong these wheel wore so much better than my old set, 700 X 35c up at 60 psi but is not a rougher ride or a more jarring ride across rough pavement I just couldn’t believe it these wheels are really making a difference. The tires really help also. Highly recommend. As my bike man says the number one difference that you can make to a bike is a set of wheels. This is a man with 40 years of experience and he has no hyperbole in his vocabulary. Zoom! Zoom! Additionally, this wheelset was applied to a Schwinn Vantage F2 Bicycle with many modifications: Over $100.00 of screws and washers were replaced to give you an example. I spent almost $1000 on upgrades to this bicycle before this upgrade. This included $250 worth of lights alone, pedals, crank arm protectors handlebar stem computer, saddle, and I always I forget about many other improvements that I have made to this bicycle. And on it goes. It is the best frame I’ve ever seen for the price.Great wheels. Fantastic agility!UPDATE: 750 miles all good. One flat due to road resurfacing cut pavement and me failing to air my tires that morning after a few days of non-use. Yes sometimes I forget my helmet too halfway there. Not too bright sometimes.

2 years later and multiple problems later. Do not buy
The media could not be loaded. This is a follow up to my original review from two years ago. Please read below for the first problem I have.So I've been writing on these on my road bike for about 5,000 miles over 2 years and I will confirm that these wheels are trash. After the initial free hub failure I got used to maintaining the free hub on my own. I write a lot so twice a year I do free hub maintenance. With that said about a year ago I started having spokes break and the problem cascaded from there. Since then I have replaced at least 2/3 of the rear spokes. None of my replacements spokes have ever failed. As I was getting ready to start my season this year I got a handful of rides in and then all of a sudden the free hub stops spinning. When those broke and the pawls came free it then started to eat away at the internal wheel bearing. The wheel bearing is now absolutely knackered and unrepairable.I have spent hours and hours working on this rear wheel when it works I don't think about it but for every 500 miles of riding, these wheels were fired 10 hours of maintenance. They have been expensive, they've been time consuming, and they have been a learning experience about this brand. I have used plenty of Buffalo's products before but the shortcuts that they've taken for something so important are too much to recommend anyone ever buy one of these wheels.I have updated the pictures to show all the parts that have failed and if anyone asked I will tell them that the front wheel has been great.I got about 6 rides out of these before the freehub failed halfway through a 25 mile ride. It's hauntingly incompetent to have literally the most critical component of a bike fail so fast. Not happy with the return process either because I tossed the box and I have to ship it back ...meaning I have to strip the wheels all over again.i took them apart down to the freehub. the pawls (the teeth that are supposed to connect the the wheels internal gearing were never lubricated in anyway. not even a pennies worth of lube would have saved me about 4 hours. unacceptable. repaired but do i ever really want to trust them again. The wheels are decently strong and arrived true with a fast install.I look forward to recycling this wheel so no one accidentally uses it

First maintenance was interesting ...
Note: This review is a time line review ... please read to the end ...Wheelset arrived in 2 days ... OMG and I'm notAmazon Prime.Beautifully packagedFairly priced, but a bit on the expensiveComponents excellent: rims, spokes, and hubsIncluded 2 spare spokesBuild is true as an arrowIm pleased as punch ...Purchase with confidence ...USE UPDATE ...IMPORTANT ...The wheels are fantastic as stated above BUT ...Two 25 mile rides and 2 FLATS ...BOTTOM LINE ...THROW AWAY the RIM STRIPS ...They slide and expose the spoke holes creating pinch flats. 3 rounds of electrical tape and flat problem solved ...AFTER 250 MILES ...1. Rim strips slid exposing spoke holes caused 3 flats b4 flat problem discovered.2. Had pro mechanic observe wheelset because my bikes clearances are tight and both wheels weren't centered in the frame ...Both wheels were NOT CENTERED.Front was 3/16" off centerRear was 1/4" off centerSpokes were so tight 20 spokes were destroyed truing the wheels. Cost = $54.Sellers building MACHINE was out of caliber.Lesson Learned ?I'll never purchase pre built wheels again. ie: buy the parts and have a local wheelbuilder assemble ...

Sturdy pair of rims for training.
Pretty sturdy pair of rims. Put them through a few tests on rough roads, climbing in the hills and descending same. Only issue I had was the liners on both rims moved and caused flats. But I corrected that issue and haven’t had a problem since.
