Works well. It's NOT an air conditioner. Freeze Packs are cheap that come with it.
The product is really quite. I purchased one to try out in my shop for my employees to see how they liked it. The unit definitely cools the air. In the humid southern climate (South of Atlanta) it did cool the air and was better than a fan blowing hot air, the cooler air did make a difference. Employee put an ice pack in the top of the unit and changed it out at lunch. Now speaking of the ice packs. They are worthless as far as quality goes. People in other reviews complained about it and I didn't think to much about it. However, after purchasing a total of 3 of these units within 3 days of each other every single ice pack for all three units has busted in the freezer after the 3rd or 4th time being froze. I am going to call the MFG and see what they say about it. I have other ice packs that I can use and will keep all 3 units.. But the reviews about the ice packs (they come with 2 each). (I got a total of 6 ice packs, and all but one has bust). all of them busted at different locations.

Great evaporative cooler!
We recently moved into a house in the mountains of Colorado, and most homes up here do not have a/c, including our house. With the windows closed all day while at work, the temp was getting up to 75-77 during the later afternoon hours (outside temps have been about 80, but lots of direct sunlight on the front of the house and coming in through the upper windows). When we get home, we open the windows and have the unit a foot or so in front of one. Even with only filling the unit with cold well water, it works great. Haven't needed to try the freezer packs. Cools the living room/dining room/kitchen area down to 68 or so within 30-45 min. The oscillating function really helps to make it feel cooler in the area 10-15 feet out from the unit.On it's highest setting, it has about the same noise level as a regular box fan on high. After two weeks of use, I took the back cover off to clean down inside the tank (pretty easy to do with only four screws to remove). Even with us using well water in it, there was only a very light film to clean in the bottom of the tank.Super easy to roll the unit into the kitchen to fill from the sink sprayer.I would definitely recommend this unit. So far, it's been worth every penny.

Works really well until the water warms up (a suggestion for optimizing cold)...
What these swamp coolers really need is a function that keeps the water cool because as soon as the water warms up, this becomes pretty useless. It works fantastic when the water is cold, but you'll likely run into the same problem I was in warm weather where the water gets too warm over time, even with the ice packs, and it begins to not work as well for cooling. What I suggest is this: if you will be using it for a long time like all day, don't fill the tank all the way. Fill it half-way and then fill it again later on with cold water and a new cold ice pack. That way, you aren't working with warm water the second half of the day. That issue aside, this does work very well with cold water. It almost feels air-conditioner-cold at first. It has a powerful air flow, too. I do like it a lot, I just wish it had a feature that keeps water cool!EDIT: A few days later, and both my ice packs split in the freezer, just like everyone else's. Sort of ridiculous that they include such horrible ice packs with this machine. I ordered six of these ice packs in Mini size (three of them fit in the top reservoir perfectly so I got three extras to keep cool while the first three are in use so I can rotate them): Igloo Performance Ice Blocks - Mini. They last much longer than the ice packs that came with this machine! I highly recommend that you get them, too.

Terrible company, very slow to respond.
I bought the cooler from Vagkri. It came without the remote or the cold packs. The cold packs were no big deal I could get them anywhere, but I wanted the remote replaced. The company is very difficult to work with. I’ve been emailing them for two weeks. I don’t want my 30 day return window to close before I get the missing items, but they’re very slow to respond. I am extremely irritated, so I will be sending this back. Don’t waste your time with this company.
