CBT as a treatment for many psychological problems
Cognitive Behavior Therapy - CBT - by Rebecca Franks is a self-help book of quality. Through Cognitive Terapy, teh author says, patients learn to change or stop unwanted behaviors.I am a layperson, so I cannot comment on the knowledge and advice in this book. However, unlike many such books, this one is gogently written and the information is well organized. The book tells us that Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment option that CBT is one of the most effective treatments available for problems such as depression.. She also recommends CBT for low self-esteem, addiction, and other ailments.Negative or distorted beliefs are identified so that individuals can recognize destructive thought patterns, understanding how these beliefs are contributing to one’s destructive behaviors. This book offers guidance in Individuals then challenge these thought processes, changing their behaviors through various methods. While emphasizing the caveat that CBT may not be helpful for all conditions, the book introduces the reader to CBT, which it says is a set of respected and recommended therapies to improve individual well-being and quality of life. This text offers an understanding of CBT and explains how it has helped patients recover from many disorders and conditions, improving their overall well-being.

Not sure where the workbook part was supposed to come in. More like a pamplet...will have to buy another book for any helpful techniques or actual working strategies.

Interesting information.
CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a tool which psychologists and other therapists can use to treat patients with a wide variety of disorders. This small book by Rebeca Franks explains what CBT is, and how it works, in terms and clear language that the lay person can understand. Interesting information, for anyone, but especially for someone whose loved one is undergoing therapy.

Is this even a real book??? Don't waste your time nor money.
If I could give this a zero star I absolutely would! This book is absolutely useless and looks like something my daughter's 5 grade class wrote. The printing and cutting of the book look as if it was done in someone's home. The numbers of the pages had nothing in common with the page numbers in the table of contents, nor did the chapters line up. This is a VERY little book with a VERY bad editing job (if any proof reading or editing occurred at all.) topped off with a completely inept book production. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The material contained is absolutely useless as well. I will be returning this post haste and getting my money back.

Educate yourself about CBT with this book.
Going through CBT will give you the ability to get to the root of your disorder, realizing where in your life the distortions came and heal them. The process takes you being able face your own negative thoughts and work hard to change it, as a result, would change your behavior and feelings and deal with your disorder whether it be depression, PTSD, OCD, anxiety etc. This is not a typical self help book where a step-by-step technique is given to eliminate psychological problems. Instead, it discussed CBT’s basics, history, uses, methods and types thoroughly and intelligibly to help someone gauge if Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a process that he/she could or would go through to address his/her issue. I think, this book’s content would also interest wide range of students and readers who like psychology. Highly recommended.

CBT
Those interested in discovering exactly what cognitive behavioral therapy is and how it can aid in the treatment of anxiety and depression should check out this wonderful guide. Franks’ book, though slim, thoroughly outlines methods for treating these illnesses without the exclusive use of pharmaceuticals. Through the power of positive thinking and correcting negative behavior and thought patterns, CBT is proven by Franks to be a serious option in managing stressors that trigger mental health conditions like social anxiety. I highly recommend this important guide and urge those struggling with these serious illnesses to pass on this valuable information.

A clear and concise review of the field of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
A clear and concise review of the field of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. For depression, anxiety, and other emotional disorders, CBT offers patients a way to deal with their emotional pain without the use of drugs. Therapy teaches them how to change the way they think about themselves. It also helps them to make better decisions. They are taught to think in a positive way without all their old inhibitions and negative thoughts. They can throw away their old emotional baggage.
