Boys love this
My boys (ages 6 and almost 4) love this so much. Together with the aeroplane kit, they mix and match parts and come up with so many unique vehicles of their own for hours. They take it with them around the house. Wonderful for kids who love Legos.

So many combinations
Toddler wanted a boat that ACTUALLY float and this boat did not disappoint. And he can build do many different types of boats. It's a little speedy but we'll worth the happiness it provided.

Great toy, some issues
This is a great toy for my almost 4 year old. However, it's quite annoying that (for the price) it doesn't have enough components to add creative touches to a more complex boat or make 2 boats at the same time. All that would be required are a few extra dowels and interlocking pieces, and an additional pair of eyeballs to be included with the kit. Unless T & K sells a bag of extra parts for this line, the only way to solve this problem is to buy a whole additional set, which I am opposed to doing. I docked a star because of this.

Independent building -
This is a great engineer set. My 6 year old can "engineer" different boats on his own using the instruction manual, without my help, and then make the boats float on their own in the bathtub or other body of water. He's completely independent with it, and really likes making the different boat structures by himself. He has played with this set longer than duplo sets, and he's not really ready for legos. He particularly likes it because he's learning to use the pieces in different ways, but has guided instruction, which he prefers. He tends to get intimidated by building toys that don't have instructions that are geared towards his developmental stage. This is an excellent toy, and I definitely recommend.

Great building and creativity kit for a boy or a girl!
We love this Kids First Boat Engineer Science Kit. The pieces in the kit we received are big, smooth, colorful plastic that are easy to put together and easy enough to pull apart, so whatever you make stays together as long as you like. The boats, all 10 of the versions, hold together once they're put together, but have to be taken apart to make another version. You don't have enough pieces to make multiple boats at one time. Each boat floats very well. They're not only fun to build, they're also fun to play with in water. They're a great STEM lesson. The kit is also excellent for teaching a 3 year old how important it is to keep all the parts put away so something new can be made in its entirety the next time. Has many of the teaching values of plain blocks, without the open-ended opportunity for unguided creativity. But still teaches a LOT of skills. The parts come in their own very attractive and functional plastic box with lid and handles, so organization is easy. This is a very nice kit and a great toy for a boy or a girl!

Toddlers Enjoy It
This is a nice STEM kit for toddlers, and younger kids. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old and they had a blast playing with it. They each could make their own, and take them to the bath to play with. However there is only one set of eyes, so you really can only make one of the characters at a time. It comes with a plastic storage container, which is a plus because you can store all the pieces right back in the box when they are finish playing with them. The kids like that the boats have eyes and make me make up stories about them. It comes with a book with instructions and a story, but hard to bring that into the bath. The pieces are a decent size for little hands as all the pieces are large, and the boats are a good size too for their little frames. The kids really enjoyed building these boats and had a blast. Toddlers approved!

Surprisingly fun and engaging for the kids.
it is always kinda funny. When I first got this set I thought, ok, another lego type toy that will be boring quick .... Nope. Kids love it in the bath and have played with it every night. Go figure. They took out the booklet and checkout all the different builds and then they really haven't been back at it. They have just been playing and rebuilding this very simple, large, set. It is very much like a lego set but huge and clearly made for the water. This seems like the perfect bath toy for a 5 year old or little ones that like duplos or other build type toys. While there are not that many parts, they seems to have enough to keep the play factor alive and well. At least for the last 2 weeks it has ...
