It is gold tone not brown. But it is cute and looks great by the front door. Candles are just a nice glow. Going to decorate it for the holidays

Well made, nice size, rechargeable solar battery, can be hung on metal hook in the yard.

1. It's not super bright but rather a very nice soft light.2. If it doesn't get bright sun all day, it doesn't last very long.3. It's really pretty and doesn't feel or look cheap.4. I'd definitely buy it again and would recommend it.

Received this item today. I didn't read it was plastic on the outside - I thought it was referring to the inside candles. That's the best part - the 3 light up solar candles. The lantern, however, is made of plastic - I'm concerned about leaving in the hot sun so it can collect solar energy. Hope it doesn't melt. A bit overpriced for plastic. As for longevity, we shall see. It just went on sale for prime day - wish I would have known. Oh well.UPDATE: This candle is still going strong and can handle the heat here - it's in a covered porch area. Still looks great and bright as the day I got it!

had this 3 or 4 months . I bought 2 as a set and 21 had already fallen apart. Very disappointed as I liked theyway they look.

looked like you could replace the rechargeable battery but it was not to be. Internal battery is loose on all three, so any nudge and the lantern dims or goes out and wacking it might or might not bring it back full on. When working properly, they are very nice lanterns that stay on 8 hours-ish. Manufacturers should understand users want to be able to replace/reseat rechargeable batteries.

It does what it is suppose to do.
