I purchased this after seeing similar ones used in videos. I can easily pick up 25lb plates with this at a flick of a switch. This to me is 100% a toy and I have zero practical use for it. However, it has still given me and my friends plenty of enjoyment. This little thing is seriously powerful so be careful though

I used two of these to make a band saw fence. With two engaged, I can pick up cast iron band saw, motor and stand. Needless to say, they work.

Very strong magnet when you use it as it's designed to be used. No, you won't get 160 pounds out if it on sheet metal. Not even thick sheet metal. Mount it to 1/4 or 1/2 inch and you will see a huge difference. Note though that this is fur pull strength. If you slide it, it's a very different story. Go to the companies website, read and UNDERSTAND the spec sheet on these things.

I ordered a 176lbs magnet, but received a 132lbs. Magnet. I’m hoping it will work for what I’m using it for. Would of liked the 176 lbs magnet!

the base is a machined surface... It can scratch a surface... Be careful. The strength of its hold is related the amount of iron or steel you attach to... The thicker the better!

My husband didn't know the name of this magnet that would assist on his table saw. So I googled it....and found it here on Amazon. Perfect for his needs. Quick delivery. Definitely works as advertised.

Works great considering the price. When you turn the knob one direction it's not super smooth but works good other than that. Magnet strength feels as strong as more expensive models.
