Hollywood on Lake Michigan: 100+ Years of Chicago and the Movies Paperback – June 1, 2013

I have a confession. I am in love with Chicago, and everything about it, starting with its fascinating history. I actually did not purchase this book from Amazon, however I hoped that others here will, since you may not have the luxury of walking passed the Shake Rattle and Read to have it catch your eye in the window on your way to grab a drink at the Green Mill. Everyone knows about the Mob in Chicago, but there's so much more history outside of that which deserves to have the spotlight, and this book steals it perfectly! If you have never heard of Gloria Swanson, Charlie Chaplin, or Francis X Bushman, this book does a great job introducing you. This is binge reading worthy.

Got it for my boyfriend who is intrigued with movies...& more so, movies made in this wonderful city we live in. Shipped on time & I read some of it before I gave it to him & I liked that it was pretty specific about some of the places related to movies filmed here. Book was in perfect shape as well.

Note does not have much on the early years which is what I was looking for - mainly covers more recent history in chicago cinema
