The Betty Crocker Cookbook, 13th Edition: Everything You Need to Know to Cook Today (Betty Crocker Cooking)

I wish this particular cookbook would have existed 25 years ago, when I moved out on my own. This book has everything you will need and more. I made the meatball recipe with ground chicken, and they were the best meatballs I’ve ever tasted. They turned out perfect. I used the meatballs in the Swedish Meatball Soup recipe, which was also really good. I made the soup in a dutch oven in about 30 minutes, instead of letting it simmer in a slow cooker for several hours like the recipe calls for, and I think the flavor would have been richer had it cooked in the slow cooker. Also, the broth gets absorbed by the noodles, especially if there are leftovers, so next time I plan to double the amount of broth that the recipe calls for. I’m looking forward to trying more of the recipes in this book. This cookbook would make an amazing gift for anyone who enjoys cooking or is learning to cook. Mine came in great condition. Some of the pages do have print streaks on them, but it’s not bad and would still be suitable to give as a gift. It also has a ribbon bookmark.

Great cookbook. Excellent recipes, photos, graphics. Shipped in custom box, so it arrived PERFECT without the usually-bent corners that occur when books are pitched into a large box with lots of other items. Everyone should own this book. My mother (born 1921) and grandmother (born 1899) both cooked from the original Betty Crocker Cookbook. I cooked from the 1972 cookbook, and when that fell apart, I (born 1951) found a great used copy with a ring binder. When I saw this, though... 375 NEW recipes.. I decided it was time to see what's new with Betty Crocker since 1972. Well... it has great modern graphics and larger type, some of my old favorites like pancakes and biscuits are still there. I have not found the 375 new recipes yet, though I will.

Excellent cookbook! It's not ring bound, it's hardcover. It's designed well, so it lays open nicely. The spine of the book is very good quality, the pages are stitched in.There's a lot of recipes and photos in here, as well as helpful tips. There's "Learn To" and "Use It Up" suggestions, too. And so many recipes!!!

This book is great. I have been cooking since I was little and some of the recipes are classic, what is nice is they also pair with it a new updated version of the recipe or something similar. It makes for a lot of options and so many recipes to try! They also have a lot of cooking information and instructions, which I liked a lot. The only reason I dropped a star is that I previously had checked out the book at a library. The cookbook fell a couple feet and the binding came apart. I am not sure if it was just that book or of they all have weak binding. Despite that I still asked for it for Christmas, because I liked it so much. Just be extra careful not to accidentally let it fall.

Great cook book reminds me of my mother’s box.

This cook book is well worth the purchase. the recipes are numerous and easy to make and it has a lot of classic recipes that I was used to growing up. Instructions were easy to follow and the food was delicious once it was made.
