I purched this seat for a few reasons. It stated it will hold up to 287 pounds, so I'm safe at 175. The appearance is beautiful. I mounted mine 19 inches from the shower floor. Good height. The look and finish are fantastic.Others were nice as well, however, after much evaluation, I decided on this one due to the price, the appearance and the round bracket covers.The installation was confusing at first, so I let all the pieces lay on my bathroom floor for a couple days allowing me to ponder the installation.Ok, easy, however, what is very important is that you locate the interior space 2 X 4's.I found them at 16 inches center to center.Instead of using the screws that came with this product, I used 4.5 inch wood screw.I was able to get 3 screws center in each bracket (I drilled another hole in each bracket in the center at the top)Done, I like it!

My bathroom shower is small standing style, it is a 3ft x 4ft shower stall. Because it is small, it prevents me from falling hard and breaking my bones, even if I fall, it will be gradual because the walls are so close. I tried to explain this to the last occupational therapist that visited me, but she did not understand.Now I have added a folding shower seat and grab bars, but I had it installed by a professional which ensures it is safe.This is also a very good arrangement for elderly people. There are many people who have a fatal fall, it is the fall that kills not the age! This is also suitable for females who will appreciate a seat in the shower while they use a foot scrub or a razor on their legs.Update: This stopped staying folded, so I am replacing it with a new one. I like the finish of the wood and the metal, surprisingly all metal parts look good and not rusted. It has cost me $0.09 (Total cost / number of days it worked) per day since I installed it. I am happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my mama as she is getting older in her 70's and she needed something to put her foot upon while bathing them. So instead of a seat she uses it as a foot stool in her shower. Really likes it and likes how it folds up when she don't need it. However the small plastic caps to cap off the holes in the plastic covers are a joke. I couldn't get them to snap in. They just fell into the holes. They need to redesign this part, upgrade the cheap plastic covers. Everything else is good quality, but then the stopped quality at the covers for some reason.

Very good folding shower seat. Looks good, sturdy and easy to install. Make sure you have the supporting studs or 2x6 for mounting or you'll have problems down the road. Additionally, consider upgrading the mounting screws to a better grade of steel. The phillip head screws are rather soft and it's easy stripe out the heads.

I was instantly pleased with the quality of construction and the overall design in practical terms as well as aesthetic. The chromed plastic covers that hide the actual important parts is an excellent idea since the material will not tend to corrode as easily as chromed metal.

Just received the shower seat. 1st off, instructions refer to “use the template provided” 3 times. NO TEMPLATE provided!Also, all of the sizes for the drill bit size, depth of hole and height from the floor are all in millimeters. I thought this product was manufactured in the USA. Why would you use metric measurements instead of inches?I guess I’ll have to use a conversion chart to determine what measurements to use. Not user friendly!

This shower seat gives me the opportunity for a more relaxed shower. I can sit down to shave my legs, get off my aching feet, relax, close my eyes and feel secure. I have no balance worries about closing my eyes to shampoo and rinse because I can sit down. It's great that this seat folds up and still looks great. It isn't in the way either folded or in seating position.This is a great purchase.Be sure it's properly installed to provided promised weight tolerance.

I ordered this a year ago, and am happy with the qualityMy contractor placed another piece of teak on the wall to anchor it, as it couldn’t be anchored through the tile, and it looks much more upscale
