Stanbroil BBQ Auger Motor Kit Replacement for Pit Boss Wood Pellet Grills

NOT AN EXACT OEM REPLACEMENT FOR PITBOSS 820
The item works well and comes with the required nut and bolt.HOWEVER, it is not a drop in OEM-like replacement for many grills. The description should be updated to reflect the fact that it runs slower than required for some grills and cannot reach OEM temps in some cases.

Money well spent
I'm unsure if the original auger motor in my Pit Boss was faulty, but it never ran as quietly or efficiently as this one does. In fairness to Pit Boss, they are in the process of replacing the original motor, but they're back-ordered and the replacement won't be here for +/- 8 weeks, so the Stanbroil motor has kept me BBQing.

FAR better auger motor for a Pit Boss than the stock 2.0 RPM
This is a must for many pellet grills with a 2 .0RPM auger or greater, if one wants to achieve and hold low temperatures (140° - 150°) ,and it will.Quality is not great, but no worse than what comes stock with Traeger or Pit Boss. This, according to the manufacturer, is .22 amp, same as the Pit Boss stock motor. This was confirmed by email, not stamped on the motor. One answer to the amperage question which I had posed, stating the amps are higher, is incorrect.Installation is easy, takes 20-30 minutes including disassembly of the hopper to access the motor and auger. The trick is to first, with a thin Sharpie and a straightedge, mark a line where the auger slides on to the motor shaft, as there's a pin that holds them and you won't be able to see the alignment easily. You'll find less grinding and no stalls when using quality pellets. You'll be able to hold lower temps, however your upper temps will peak around 475° for holding. That does not matter to me--these grills are more for smoking and barbecuing than grilling, which is better done with a direct flame.

Remove control switch then the hopper
Easy install once hopper and control plate are removed. One tiny bolt attaches the motor to the auger, one ground wire. Reverse order to install new motor, no parts left over!
