Self ProBalaclava Ski Mask - Face Mask for Men & Women - Cold Weather Gear for Skiing, Snowboarding & Motorcycle Riding

I received it yesterday and was able to use it today. Snug fit and keeps my face and ears warm, no discomfort or itchy type feeling. I hunt from a ground blind and the weather here cold and windy. And what a difference this product makes. I am absolutely happy with my purchase.

I picked up the black extra warmth fleece and the black air flow variants. The extra warmth fleece arrived first so I took it out jogging the next morning just to test it out. It was roughly 25 degrees Fahrenheit on a cold January morning in the northeast and it didn't bother me one bit. Within 3 minutes, my body heat turned it into a toaster. Roughly 5 minutes after that on my second mile, I was sweating so I had to take it off. I've yet to test out the black air flow but definitely DO NOT use the extra warmth if you plan on using it for jogging. Get the black air flow instead. Only use the extra warmth if you plan on being passive in the cold (e.g. social events, or skiing, or climbing Mt. Everest). One another reviewer said he was comfy in -30F temperatures and I believe him.The inside is fleece and you will melt like butter in the oven.... seriously, it's that good and the intended function. If you are more intolerant of the cold, then this might be for you. Normally I can stand the cold just fine but exposed skin does get a bit uncomfortable in the cold over time and I wanted to experiment with all these different variants. What I like about this mask is that it's adjustable - you can either cover your mouth and keep your head exposed, vice versa, or cover up everything. There's plenty of excess fabric so you can tuck it under your shirts. The fit is great - not too tight or loose. Breathing with the mouth and nose covered is manageable - not too hard but it's obviously easier to breathe with it not covering your chin. You might look like a bad guy but at least you'll be warm.It's a great purchase and I highly recommend it. I'm definitely going to hold onto it and use it if I ever have to go skiing in Antarctica during the night.

Keeps the face warm enough even on windy cold days

As the winter months have gotten colder and colder, I have been in a search for a good windproof and warm mask to wear while I’m walking to and from classes on campus or doing anything that involves being outside for a long period of time. I found this ski mask and judging by the reviews it seemed like a great fit. The main things that appealed to me was the comfort, durability and the “windproof(ness)”.Comfort –This mask is very comfortable, I was afraid it was going to start to itch like most masks do after wearing it for a prolonged amount of time, but to my surprise no itchiness or moist feeling within the mask. It is very warm and looks great. The texture of the mask is also very comfortable around your head and doesn’t feel like it’s pressing against your skull. You will love the comfort of this mask! If you’re also someone who needs to walk or run long distance you will not be disappointed with the comfort in the maskDurability –For the price point it came in at, the mask is very durable. I have washed it once so far and have had no issues of it starting to fade or make the material flakey. I don’t see it falling apart anytime soon and is holding texture very well. You will be very impressed with the Balaclava material in this mask. Also, the fact that the mask can transform from being completely around your head to just your face is a nice feature for easier access to removing the mask.Windproof(ness) –This mask is very windproof, I have personally used it in -20 wind-chill and felt perfectly warm. The way the wind just reflects and goes around your head instead of just beating into your face is amazing. As I have to walk 10+ minutes to class everyday it’s definitely proven itself to be effect against the cold weather mother nature has brought on this year.Overall –Overall, this is a very well built and warm ski mask for the winter. Not only is it super comfortable around your head for prolonged amounts of time, but also is very easily removable and transformable to just a face screen instead of a whole head mask. It’s built to last and definitely built to endure even the harshest conditions.

I ordered this after the Big Freeze in Feb2021, and haven't worn it except to try it on. I can tell it will keep my ears and face warm in the coldest weather Texas is able to muster. Regardless of how seldom I will have occasion to wear it I can tell that it is a very quality product. It is stitched immaculately and double layered in strategic places. It is made to last a lifetime and keep one toasty in the meanwhile. I don't ski or snowboard, but my doggie will be glad I can stay warm to walk him on the coldest days. He doesn't have a problem with the cold! And Adam and Linda enclosed a cute little Thank You card with my order. Thank you for your attention to detail!UPDATE 27May2022: A year after my original review I have had several occasions to wear it and I was very glad I bought it. On those occasions the temp was in the teens or low 20s. Not the coldest but when a cold front blows thru the Texas Hills the North wind can blow 12-18 knots. It gets terrible cold in those conditions. My dog Gizmo and I were both very grateful for this mask on those few days.

They fit my regular size head perfectly.Once I got used to where to position the vent it was easy to breathe in. It was easy to pull down. When I wanted to smoke.I went skiing for three hours. It was 22 degrees when I started,and it got down to 12 degrees on the last hour. That's when I felt the cold. I did have to wear a cap,and my hood through. The face part was plenty was though

I was very happy with the balacalava.It is very comfortable to wear and warm.We have a sailboat and winter weather can get a bit chilly.I like that it has a long neck piece that can be tucked in the jacket to keep your neck warm. Pat Coates

The head part is slightly too small, but wearable, but the bottom part is too loose. It sticks out about an inch away from your face. You really have to tuck it in under the cap to be effective.

I ordered this face mask for my 8 yr old son. The quality is very good. It's a little lose on him for now but he'll grow into it for the coming years.

What a nice surprise!It has a thinner membrane over the mouth which makes it easier to breathe.
