Pretty, BUT TONS of screwing/twisting assembly! Take it slow!
The light is really pretty. My only gripe is you should take your time or you may end up with a sore carpal tunnel wrist/arm.There's a lot of screwing involved. First, you need to screw in the support rods (3) to each other, and to the lower ball and the upper cap. So that's 4 so far. There are the individual bulb holders that you need to screw into the "stems" (18).The stems have to be screwed into the ball (18).Then you have to screw in the bulb (18).So we have 58 times of screwing a component in to another just for assembly. And each of these 58 screws require some 3-8 complete rotations (so, an average of say, 5). Assuming your wrist can do 1 full rotation in 3 turns of your wrist, that's an average of 870 turns!! Carpal tunnel anyone? It's a necessary evil, I don't think there's a way out with this design. So just take it slow. Stretch this project through the whole day if necessary. Also, instead of following the instructions to assemble the whole thing before hanging, I recommend hanging FIRST (leaving the stems shrink wrapped from package) before assembling the stems. It's a lot easier to hang, and you run a much lower chance of damage while attempting to hang. This was one time not reading the instructions worked out for the better for me!

Fabulous mid-century modern Sputnik chandelier at a FANTASTIC price!
This mid-century modern style "Sputnik" lighting fixture could not be more perfect for the space above my entry way staircase. It makes a dramatic statement and introduces the overall modernist theme of my apartment's decor. And you CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE!!! I chose the 12-bulb nickel/silver finish version. I will admit I hired someone to install it - electrical installation skills not being in my wheel house - and also, due to the extremely high ceilings and location above the stairs, I needed a professional to accomplish the job. That said, the installation was fast and easy and the final effect is spectacular. It should be noted that the bulbs I chose are REALLY BRIGHT - so choose accordingly. Excellent design and I rate this an 11!

Fantastic looking fixture at a great price
This is exactly the type of light fixture I was looking for and was several hundreds dollars less than comparable light fixtures I found online. The brass finish looks amazing and they packaged it up really well to make sure there wasn't any scratches or damage done during shipping. All of the arms were already pre-wired, you just need to secure the arms to the ball fixture by reaching inside and putting the nut on the threaded end of the arm. I'd recommend someone with smaller hands to do this as there isn't much working space, but they all went on pretty easily. The rest of the installation was easy. I just ran the wires through the rod ( I only ended up using one on my ceiling) and through the mounting base, hard wired to the wires in the ceiling. I was surprised how quickly I was able to get it done and was more than pleased with the finished look. I do have a slanted ceiling so I purchased an adapter that connected to the rod and base, which allows it to hang vertically.

Great looking light. Highly recommend. Read my notes on installing the spokes though.
Really like the look of this light, looks more expensive than it was and have gotten some complements on it. It is relatively easy to install, I did have one minor issue with the setup though... Each one of the spokes that stick out need to be screwed into place, the problem I had was the electrical wire for each light ran through the center and some were a bit long and made it difficult to catch the thread to start screwing then together. It was a bit scary, as I thought I was going to break the wire or strip the thread.I think I ended up twisting the spokes counterclockwise like 2-3 times to wind the wire to remove slack, then twisting it onto the thread correctly. This stopped the wire from overtwisting as well. At some point you just had to be rough with threading some of them.

Did I get a refurbished item?
I ordered two light society fixtures. 12 piece was flawless, 18 piece was suspect. The 18 piece came with a brass slope adjuster and two light arms with very difficult electrical cord that I feel like must have pinched as they were not pushing back. After install, i turned power grid on and there was a shock & bam, then a smell of electrical wire as I tried turning the previously working light switch on. I’m curious if this was a refurbished item as to my understanding, these lights aren’t supposed to come with slop adjusters?

Great value, easy install
After reading some reviews I planned to spend a really long time attaching the arms to the light. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast and easy the light was to assemble (see photo of how the arms connect).I am very much a novice with this kind of thing. I got the arms all attached, then asked my dad to come hang the light. He removed our old light and hung this one in less than an hour (does not count the 30-45 minutes I spent unpacking and assembling the arms).I love the look of the light. We bought the brass and it’s somewhere between gold and brushed nickel in appearance. More like a slightly yellowed brushed nickel. The color is fairly subtle, which I like.

Pretty but defective
Update (Aug 28, 2018)-- Yesterday (just a day after posting the below original review), I received a call from Light Society offering apologies and a replacement fixture since the one I received was defective. Upgrading to five stars for such AMAZING customer service! I'll update this review once I receive the replacement, but in the meantime, compliments to this company for standing behind its products and caring for its customers!Original review (Aug 26, 2018): Was really looking forward to this light, but it seems there was a manufacturing defect on mine, so the bottom rod does not screw all the way into the sphere, leaving some silver hardware exposed against the brass color of the fixture. Could I please request a replacement or some sort of fix/solution?

Classic Midcentury design made for everyone
This is a beautiful fixture. A great update on the original design of the Sputnik out of Italy and so easy to put up and put together with everything being prewired. The price is more than reasonable and I spent the same amount of money on light bulbs as it requires 18 bulbs. It can put out an amazing amount of light. So I recommend having a dimmer switch.
