Great iron
Great iron! It takes a moment to get use to. As soon as you take your hand off the handle it lifts up. Steam worked when it gets hot. I do use the steam. The first Iron I recieved the steam stopped working when the resivor was half full. It would leave alot of water on my project. I ordered a replacement and it works great. I do love the iron. I also have the mini. I use them daily.

An excellent iron for quilters
Yes, it's expensive, but the benefits, for me anyway, outweigh the cost. A number of features are attractive. The way it elevates itself when not being touched maintains the heat on the plate but does not scorch the ironing surface. Furthermore, it is much easier to just let go of it in a horizontal position, and to us it again, then it is to turn it up on the end. It holds a very large capacity of water alleviating the inconvenience of frequent refills. This iron is very hot. Ironing our various bolt wrinkles, and especially the mid-fold crease is easy and quick. I recommend this tool for any experienced quilter.Just a note on the silicone holder. It will not withstand heat even after unplugging. The iron has to be completely cool before hanging the iron on the wall. It's handy for wall storage when not in use, but the iron will dislodge if not fully cooled.

BEST IRON FOR SEWING
I sew bags, purses, and clothes. A dependable hot steam iron is an absolute necessity. For my last iron, I had a great little cordless iron. Only problem is it wouldn't get or stay quite hot enough, even though it had plenty of steam. My new Oliso in sunny yellow (yay!) gets REALLY hot. Hot enough to use on 100% cotton and actually get all the wrinkles out. It also has plenty of steam. I have noticed that it steams better when I keep the water filled close to the maximum level marked conveniently on the iron, so I keep it pretty full. I like the little filling cup it came with. I keep a gallon jug of tap water in my sewing room and pour it into the filling cup, which makes it super easy to get it into the iron with no spills. I live where the water is fairly hard, but tap water works great in this iron. I have occasionally seen it "spit" out little tiny pieces of what I assume is calcium from the hard water, but that is rare, and easily brushed off. Most irons I've ever owned have done this. One very good thing is that it NEVER leaks. I was lucky to get it at 20% off during Amazon days, but I would have bought it at full price if I had to. It works really well and I am glad I have it. Oh - almost forgot the best feature! I LOVE how it goes up and down at just a touch of my hand! If I'm ironing and have to stop, I can just let go of it and it rises up off of the fabric. No scorching, ever! And talk about convenience! When I take it off whatever I'm ironing, I just slide it to one side and let go. I don't have to lift it up and set it on its heel (although it will sit on its heel if you want it to). This is the best iron I've ever owned and I would recommend it to anyone.

Game changer!
I absolutely love this iron! I bought it in January 2024 and the steam selector switch broke the first of March 2025. I received a replacement 10 days from the first time I reached out to the manufacturer about the problem. This is outstanding customer service! The iron is a game changer for those of use who iron a lot. No more standing the iron up which really makes ironing more efficient. The steam function is good, too. On e fill of the tank is enough to do a lot of ironing.

Glad I purchased one
Pricey but worth it. Takes a little getting use to over conventional iron. Presses easily. Not too heavy. After reading reviews, I will never put water in the reservoir, I mist or use a damp towel if necessary.

Best Iron for quilting!
Love using this iron when working with a lot of small quilt pieces. Not heavy, less likely to tip off the board. This is my 3rd Oliso. I do wish they had a longer life

I hate this iron so far- 2nd Update After 2 Months
2nd update- after two months of almost daily use... I still feel like a three star rating is appropriate for this item. I do like the auto lift feature however I work on large pieces of fabric and quilt blocks. I struggle with space on my 18inch wide ironing board for this iron to sit and auto lift. The auto lift feature is nice for smaller blocks. The steam functionality is ok. There aren't many holes for the steam to come out on the plate. My Rowenta's plate has hundreds of steam holes. This iron has 1/10th the holes and they are only located on the middle. The steam burst and spray buttons are awful. They are located on the top of the handle... which if you stop holding, activates the auto lift. It's just uncomfortable for my thumb/wrist. I have conceded to keeping a separate spray bottle pn my ironing board. The water tank seems small... or at least I seem to run out of water fairly quickly. I still feel like this iron is too light weight.I did use this to iron a shirt and it worked ok. It's an iron.My final thoughts for now on this are: if you work on large pieces of fabric or fabric that firmly holds wrinkles, this might not be the best solution for you. If you work on blocks with lots of piecing, this speeds up the process with the auto lift. If you like a colorful iron... this iron will work for you.I'm going to keep my electro-shock iron and the Oliso. They seem to both have what the other doesn't. My opinion remains unchanged... the price point for this product is based on its novelty rather than its functionality.1st update- after two weeks of me forcing myself to use this iron… my rage response has dissipated slightly:I am a quilter so I picked this iron because I needed a longer time before my iron would auto off. For the most part, this iron has done this for me.The auto lift has proved itself useful but I had to convince myself it wasn’t going to burn my ironing pad. I did decide to use distilled water. Spitting hasn’t been prevalent. With that said, I did notice some water staining and subsequent browning of my ironing board cover. It is minimal but it was a new cover and is a visual annoyance for me.The steam function is still substandard compared to my Rowenta. The rating might have been better if the iron was at a better price point.******Original Review:This iron feels like a cheap toy. I am super disappointed. I wanted to treat myself and replace a 15 yr old Rowenta that seems to be leaking from the bottom. At this point… I feel like risking electrocution over using the Oliso. The auto lift seems pointless after testing it out. I hate how light it feels. The steam burst button is chintzy. If you want to stand it up… it’s wobbly because of the “feet”. I have hard water so I use distilled water. I now have to mix distilled water and tap water together to avoid issues. Can’t just use distilled (which I prefer). I can’t believe this is what 200$ gets you now. I miss the early 2000s…I’m going to continue to use it because returning stuff isn’t my forte. I’ll update this review if my rage response improves with use.
