This book is probably getting a little dated now in terms of training science and understanding. However it an excellent reference manual for strengthening excercise for different patrs of the body. I also like the ethos or ethics running through this book as it aspires to engender warriors of honour as opposed to thug fighters.

Great resource for exercises but lacking in detail
This is a really easy book to read, I got through it in an evening and it's a fantastic resource for giving you ideas for lots of different exercises to try. Where it falls down is in the lack of discussion around how to set a program. There is an example program at the end but no real discussion on how to vary that or set your own, how much rest time to use, number of sets, total volume, high reps vs low reps, etc etc. You're left to fend for yourself on how to do that. Also, many of the exercises require equipment that only a limited few people will have access to (pulling sleds, trap bar, etc), even those who go to a gym.All in all, entertaining but could've done with more detail and more options for those with limited equipment.

Get ready to rumble!
This is a very well put together fitness manual. Regardless of your martial arts discipline there will be something you haven't tried in here. Even if your not a combat athelete this book will get you into top shape. Its a complete overview of the physical training for the fastest growing sport on the planet. I have been very impressed with the completeness of this book from the range of excersises to tips on cutting weight and as a humble boxer have found it very informative and beneficial to my conditioning.
