Using this for trapping feral chickens. So far, it caught 1 rooster, 2 chickens, and a chick. It also caught a toad and a dove. The trap works very well, but can sometimes be difficult to set. The trigger mechanism is very sensitive and although it can be adjusted (bending the hook to shape), I've chosen not to adjust it yet. Still waiting to nab a neighboring rooster that crows at all times of night and day. He's comes around every so often, so hopefully, I'll get him shortly. For those who live on Oahu, City Feed sells ready packed chicken feed, around 5lbs, for $6. Apparently, they get a lot of requests for feral chicken bait, so they carry pre-packed bags. This trap is built very well and is a solid buy. If it can fit your needs... buy it! 5 stars! As an aside, it's recommended by Pest control that you shade the trap. I used this shade cloth,. cut it to size, and attached it with zip ties. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXN7SMXX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 UPDATE: Since first puchasing this trap in Feb 2025, I've caught over 50 feral chickens in my yard to date (Jul 2025). Also, a few young feral cats that were trapped/released. Howerver, I had to mod the trap by totally covering the entire trap with 1/2" square Hardware cloth (metal wire type), including the doors, because small chicks would escape right through the existing wire grids. Still, the trap works very well for chickens and roosters so I continue to recommend it.

The trap ships flat, so a little assembly is required. the directions aren't very clear, but looking at the parts, it's easy to figure out where things go. Setting the trap door is simple, and the smooth edges allow the trip to release the door to trap animals with little pressure required by the animal. The top of the trap has a metal plate surrounding the handle, making it safer to carry a trapped animal, although I still recommend using sturdy gloves when handling the trap with a live animal inside it. The size is adequate for raccoons, opossums, cats, ad other animals around that size. The wire spacing wouldn't make it a good choice for smaller animals such as rats or chipmunks, although large squirrels may not be able to escape. So far, this trap seems well designed, well made, and should last a long time.

I can definitely recommend this product. It worked as advertised. It was easy to use. There was no adjusting needed. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five were the instructions. The tricky part was attaching the Spring loaded door to the assembled cage. It was challenging to decipher the instructions and the pictures were very low Rez. Once it was assembled, it worked like a charm. Glad I bought it. The surprise awaiting me was that it was not a groundhog but a skunk that I trapped. I slowly approached the trap with a sheet blocking me. I covered the trap with the sheet and carded it off to the nearby lake.

Easy to set up. I have a cat problem living under my crawl space. The smaller traps I have are not working. I bought this and set it up at night with some milk inside. The next morning I had both mom and child in the trap. Beware. This is big enough for a baby to crawl into. And just to show how easy it was to set up, my 9 year old daughter did it. The handle has a metal plate to shield your hand from claws or teeth. Very good price. Highly recommend.

Trip mechanism is on the inside of the trap. It catches animals, however it takes a half hour bending everything back into place so it can be used again. I finally broke down and bought one from Tractor Supply that has the linkage to the trip plate on the outside of the trap. Very disappointed in this unit.

We have had a stray female cat hanging out for two years now, She has had 3 litters. With a total of 12 kittens . She managed to have two litters in my garage. Although we tried to catch her so she could be spayed we were not successful. When she showed up pregnant again I vowed this would be her last pregnancy. We purchased this set it up and two days later she delivered 6 babies. She is currently taking care of her babies inside a warm and safe house Once she is dried up she will be spayed . I have managed to touch her but only for a bit. The trap was reasonably priced, easy to use and got the job done.

It works and I loved that it folded for travel use. But I had to return it because the trip-pad was too close to where I’d put the food. This resulted in cats being able to eat the food without stepping on the trip-pad to close the trap. Make sure to review the measurements of each trap.

There was a hissing, mean, wild, cat that was causing trouble in the neighborhood, but came up regularly to be fed, as long as I didn't get anywhere close to him. I covered the trap with a towel and put his food dish about 10 feet away from the entrance. Over a period of several months, I moved it closer and closer, and removed the towel. Then put the dish inside the entrance and slowly slid it more into the trap. Finally, he was going in and I set the trap; I knew I had only once chance at him - it was a success! I took him to my vet and had him neutered. He now lives mostly in my garage with two other cats, and rubs against my leg while I fix his food --but he still hisses at me!!
