They're cute little buggers. Much smaller than I anticipated but I see now that I didn't read the listing properly--a fatal flaw that I think many online shoppers are too often guilty. I believe they're still useful for my purpose though - a project for Christmas guests to turn these into bird feeders (roll in seeds and such) and hang on an outdoor tree for the birdies. One forewarning though is there's a lot of glue on top which covers a fair amount of the string, which causes 1) the loop for hanging to be shorter; 2) the center to be offset where the pine cone doesn't hang straight; and 3) looks less aesthetic than if someone had applied the glue with care (it appears rushed).

I used these to decorate my light up tree along with some orange ball ornaments. These were perfect with a string already on them for hanging.Only took me a few minutes to decorate my Autumn Tree, and I have gotten lots of compliments. The pinecones they offer are ALL on the smaller size. You can forget the size range because they are either small or extra small. Very misleading.

I purchased these in hopes of deterring our kitten from climbing our tree this Christmas (adding some scents he doesn't like since they were unscented). They arrived quickly, but they were on the smaller side. The smaller size wasn't necessarily a concern, but the fact that the hot glue used to put the string on wasn't very sturdy in the week or so that these have been in use about half have broken off of the string (3 right away when taking them out of the package). I wouldn't purchase these again, hopefully the remaining ones stay in tact for the rest of the holiday season.

I gambled on these based on reviews and was unpleasantly unsurprised by the box of natural pinecones I received. They have no detectable pine scent, are glued with the visible glue described by other buyers, and most all were smashed to some degree. The 4 in the photo were smashed the worst and I didn't feel comfortable putting them on my tree so they've gone in the trash.HOWEVER, at this price, what can you honestly expect? These were undoubtedly made by slave labor at this price, and those making them likely have quotas to reach, so they rush through the process, sacrificing quality. If you understand this is how this product was made, then you'll have realistic expectations. If that's NOT how this product was made, then the company really has a problem and they deserve no stars.

I DID read the description and thought if I ordered twice as many as I needed, then perhaps half would be the size I wanted. But almost every one was only 1.5 and none were the 2.5 inches as advertised some would be. The gold strings were neatly attached, which seemed to be a problem with earlier orders. My time line was for someone else who also needed them for bird feeders. Had I had more time, I would have ordered larger ones. But I got them with one day Prime delivery and that was the most important factor. The cones are very cute and in good condition.

Making bird treats to celebrate the Winter Solstice on the 21st. Daylight increases each day after that and I'm looking forward to more sunlit hours. The cones are just the right size to fill with peanut butter and birdseed, and then hang in the trees in my backyard. I had tried to find cones in the local woods, but they were either too small, crushed in some area and missing scales, or so dirty I would have to wash and dry. These are the perfect size, complete and clean. And, since it's so close to Christmas, they will look like ornaments outside!

Having spent most of 77 years worth of summers in the mountains I’m very familiar with picking up pine cones and they are not shiny but dry and porous. These have a shiny coating which probably won’t absorb the essential oil I planned on using so I’m going to try washing and oven drying one to see what happens. I’ll update as to whether or not they can be scented. If you just want to look and not smell they are a nice size.
