Nice fitting
These fittings are nice and fit the way you would expect. Use caution with them because the 1/4 inch side breaks easily with any sort of rough handling. Even though the fitting doesn't take rough handling, it does what it was designed to do and I recommend them is you determine they meet your needs.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!! READ THE TABLE for right size
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY: Sizes are misleading. The amazon site has a table where it tells you what size to buy (for the NPT side). I measured with a caliper and the size is exactly 1/2 inch. BUT ACCORDING TO THE TABLE, you need to buy the 1/4. Sure enough I bought the 1/4" for NPT and those fit perfect (even when the size is 1/2"). AMAZING. READ THE TABLE.

Seems strong and well made
No problems, a little plumber's grease and the hose slipped on easily enough. Without grease and it was somewhat tougher. Seems like it is built well and not flimsy.

They work well, but they cannot handle any stress on the barb
For the money, it's not a bad purchase. I had a single purpose for them, so when the first one broke, I tossed it because the kit comes with multiple. If I needed a stronger setup, I would have bought a brass barb setup instead. It did the single job I needed it for.

Very brittle.
I broke two of these installing in a tight space. Any side to side pressure on the barb will snap it off. Fortunately there were 5 in the package and once installed there is no movement. So the product does work.

Threaded End Too Small, Can't Get a Good Seal Under Pressure
These are great if the line is not under pressure, not so much if it is. I bought the 3/4" threaded to 3/8" barb version of this fitting to construct an automatic water supply and exchange system for a room with five multi tank aquarium systems. On the drain side they work fine, as there is no pressure. On the supply side, there is not enough teflon tape in the world to keep them from leaking when threaded into a 3/4" NPT female valve. I had this problem with all three valves, two of which were identical and the third was from a different manufacturer, so it's unlikely that it's an issue with the valves. Of course I didn't find this out until the end of the project when we actually turned the water on, so now I'm beyond the return window. Good thing they were cheap, I guess.
