I think it is a good product. used it a little to start carving on my new walking stick. all tools are sharp and of good quality. I have no idea what the rubber band and pad is for so if anyone know please post a comment. handle is not round so it will not roll away and is actually easy to hold. I am not planning on hitting it with a hummer but I do not see why it would not hold up to a wooden mullet although I would not abuser it as it has a nice finish.This is my first set of carving tools outside of ax or knife. I did use dremel to carve my other walking stick, now I am excited to add this set to my arsenal.

These are really good quality, I haven't use them yet but I can tell they are really good. These are sharper than a razor blade so you have to be extremely careful...

I don't know anything about wood carving, but I wanted to try it, so I ordered this set because of the type and price of the blade. I knew right away which blade produces which type of carving effect. It is very durable. I'm a beginner, so I can't compare it with other sets, but I recommend it to other beginners.The charm of this set is the value. A sturdy blade made in Japan, the perfect case to store all of them. Cutlery made in Japan are clearly excellent. I'm sure this sharpness will last for many years.Etching fruits and soap is going to be more fun.It is a product that can have a great experience.

Came sharp and worked great for my uses. Time will tell how well they hold up but I was very pleased with the buy for the price.
