Makes an awkward job much easier
I am using this for front and rear differential and transfer case oil. A light prime and it started pumping great. The leverage with the pump arm made pumping the thick gear oil easy. I’d used small hand pumps before and they were always a struggle. This one is easy.

Very handy for changing transmission and rear end fluids
Bought this pump to perform transmission and rear end fluid change on my Volvo VNL semi truck. It’s a great investment for DIY projects.

Overall it's great but wish it sealed rather than just covered the bucket
Works well and saves space by utilizing the existing bucket but I didn't realize when I bought it that there was no seal or fluid retention mechanism at all so if the bucket is tipped oil will spill out the side and make a huge mess. I didn't have a bucket dolly so I tried using a mover's dolly but clearly that didn't work. Overall still happy with it.

It does what it says it will do
Easy to assemble, worked very well , saved our backs not having to lift those 5 gal buckets of hydraulic fluid and pouring into a funnel , also a lot less messy

Not well engineered
The pumping action works all right but it feels clunky and a little bit loose. Assembly of the unit is fairly straightforward. The biggest flaw is that the punch-out hole that is supposed to accept the pouring spout between uses (to avoid fluid leakage) isn’t sized properly. The pourspout will not fit into the punch out hole. I had to enlarge the hole in order for the spout to fit. This unit is also missing a pressure release to allow fluid to drain back into the bucket. Given the price I shouldn’t complain too much.

Great for sub-compact tractor service
This worked extremely well for transferring 4 gal of expensive hydraulic oil into the case of a sub-compact tractor. The tractor's hydrostatic fill port is obstructed by hoses, attachments, and such. This device made it possible to insert the pump's hose-wand into that fill port and transfer the oil. It took quite a few pumps (100ish) but the oil was viscous and NONE was spilled. The force to push the handle was minimal from an ergonomics perspective. This approach was much better than trying to pour from a 5-gal bucket through a funnel.

Drill a hole
I took the advice of another reviewer and drilled a hole in the middle of the bucket lid. The pump lid doesn’t seal and oil will spill out around it when you move it when it is full.
