Q: Would this be okay for moving an 800lb gun safe?

I have this mover set and it has worked well moving a smaller piano (about 300-350 lbs). I only moved the piano from one room to another in the same house. I could do this by myself. The movers are designed for level floor moving. It rolls relatively easy on a hard floor and takes some effort on low pile carpeting with padding. You have to strap the movers together to keep them and the load safely attached. I used several ratchet straps with my piano. The difficult part of moving a gun safe is that you will need to lift/tilt one edge at a time to slide the mover lifting plate underneath. Also a gun safe center a gravity is relatively high, much higher than a piano, so it will be top heavy. Another thing to consider is the weight limit of the movers (1100 lbs) versus your gun safe (800 lbs). It is getting close to the limit. Keep in mind that the full weight of the load has to be held by a single, large threaded rod in each mover. The lifting plate is also only 9 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep, so only about half of a typical gun safe depth would be supported. I can take photos of the movers if you are interested. Overall, I would be nervous about moving a large gun safe with these movers and would not recommend it. They are well made and worth the price, but I think you will need beefier movers with a wider lifting plate.

Q: Would this be ok for lifting an upright piano onto a 12 inch high stage platform?

I believe that that a rectangular shaped piano oj 1000 to 1200 # range should be able to be raised by the lift.. good luck. Bill
