Comfortable and flexible
My son has serious drop foot. He basically walks on his ankle because his right foot is turned so far to the right. He wears a leg brace whenever he goes out but at home he doesn’t wear one. I wanted something that would aid in keeping his foot from turning so far outward. Because of this disability, his gait is so wide. He constantly trips and it’s hard for him to maneuver around things. So we needed something to make walking around the house a little easier for him. We strapped this over a thick sock for extra comfort. The top part that goes around his ankle, we twist as far to his left as possible so that the buckle is almost on the inside of his ankle instead of the front. The other buckle part that wraps around his foot, we keep facing forward. We do this to help pull his foot towards the front. I like this brace. The Velcro is nice and strong and so far (we had it for 2 months) it is holding up. Very easy to put on and take off. I’m also hoping it will help his foot turn a little further forward over time. So in addition to his large hard brace that starts from his toes and ends at his knee this is a good extra brace just for wearing at home. It’s comfortable, easy to use and simplistic. It doesn’t take up half of his leg, very minimalistic, which we love. Definitely recommended if you want a small foot brace to wear besides the bulky one from the doctor.

Great
Difficult at first to figure out but once on it works great.

Works great, but with modifications
I had my tibialis anterior as well as the rest of my anterior compartment fully removed, cannot lift my foot or toes whatsoever for the rest of my life. Been using these for about 8 months now ever since I started walking again, and they work GREAT for me, able to work my old job which involves standing, walking, and lifting things all day. Can go for long walks, hike, squat, all types of things that were supposed to be possible.BUT, while it works great for me, it doesn't work great the way they suggest using it. If you only use the strap with the laces clip when you have shoes on, it's far too low on your ankle to lift your foot properly... And if you try to set it higher, it slides down. The way I found to solve this issue and keep it higher up my shin so that it actually holds my foot up, is by taking the portion that's supposed to go around your foot when you're barefoot, and applying that to my leg right above my shoe, then setting the one with the clip ABOVE that and clipping it my laces, that was it stays at a higher position more easily because the other strap is below it holding it up. Though it still slides from this position a bit, it can be solved by wrapping your ankle in gauze (you can find gauze on Amazon for like a dollar per roll) that way both the botton and top strap stick in place better, keeping the attachment point high and therefore your foot fully elevated to 90°. Just don't wrap the gauze too tight and cut off circulation to your foot.Like I said, I'm able to do a lot of things with this product I otherwise wouldn't be able to, and do them well and essentially pain free. BUT, only when used as I describe. Good luck, it gets easier, don't give up if you have drop foot and let it prevent you from doing things, keep working.

OKay but cheap
Not a very substantial brace but it does work. It would be better if the strap in front was elastic and could stretch but otherwise it is okay.

Impressed so far
My husband is recovering from devastating West Nile that paralyzed his lower extremities. His left leg came back within 10 months but his right leg is still not there. His right leg was in a hard AFO to his knee last year, then he moved to a $1000 AFO orthodic to keep his knee locked when he walked that would allow for ankle movement and a more normal gait and to let his calf muscle develop. Now it;s time to start transitioning to something that would help around the house for short distances for foot drop since his knee locks until he can be fitted for an orthodic that will work for long distance outside. SO impressed with how this works and how he can take a near normal step with a leg that hasn't taken a decent step for 2 1/2 years. Purchased totally on a whim and so glad that I did!

Thin versus stout; Its a return for me
I cannot speak to whether this device is comfortable, functional or easy to use because it is too small to go around my ankle. I didn't even have to try. As soon as I looked at it I knew it was too small.I suffer from neuropathy and drop foot and have tried just about everything in an effort to find sufficient support, but it always comes down to thin legs versus stout and swelling versus no swelling. I know there are other stout people out there but most of these devices are made for those with thin legs.Yes. I read the specs that said it fits a 12-inch ankle. Because of swelling my ankle is 13 inches. I had hoped there was some leeway but there is none. So thin wins again and it's a return for me.

great for drop foot after a stroke
I bought this for my husband who has mobility issues after his stroke. He has been unable to do long walks for 2 years because his foot constantly cause him issues and other braces made his foot feel too stiff. This brace was easy for him to put on any shoe he wore and also didn't chafe his skin or cause his foot to be stiff. He said he help him a lot with his drop foot issues and now wears it any time we will be walking for more than an hour.

Need different sizes
If you have narrow feet, do not purchase this item. The part that wraps around the foot is bulky. I was not able to make the belt shorter for the buckle. I had to wrap the ankle part up higher on my leg.Half way through the night I had to take it off because it caused pain in my foot. That may be specific to my problem. I do not have drop foot.I am returning the product.
