It's expensive but worth it
Tried another weighted blanket from ynm and it's nothing like this one. This blanket is incredibly soft and heavy. No plastics in sight from what I gather, 100% cotton. I use the comforter one as a duvet insert and i sleep like a baby. Be careful though it's heavy and I could see it ripping my duvet cover haha

Improves sleep quality for RLS and sleep apnea
I bought this for my spouse to try, as they are dealing with Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and sleep apnea, as well as chronic pain issues. They are also prone to nightmares, which are sometimes associated with sleep apnea. I did a lot of research and read lots of reviews and finally settled on this one. It has been wildly successful in improving the quality and duration of their sleep. Often they would wake early in the morning after only 5 or 6 hours of sleep and not be able to fall back asleep. With this blanket we are happy to say it’s more like 8 hours of restful deep sleep. As the person sharing the bed, I can observe the sleep is more peaceful with much less tossing and turning, and much less leg movement. It’s made a huge difference in the quality of sleep! We have a king bed and this works perfectly for his half of the bed. It does overlap onto my side by about 8 inches, but I roll that up toward the center, which makes a heavy part and helps keep it from sliding off the bed. If you let too much of it hang off the side of the bed gravity will pull it, so be mindful. It would be the perfect size for a twin. We choose the 20 lb, he likes it. It does make him a bit hot, but we were able to solve that by turning our AC down 2 degrees. The baffles are sewn with extra smaller panels and really helps keep the beads distributed well. The fabric is beautiful and there are tabs for using inside a duvet cover, if desired, but it would be too hot for him. We have had absolutely no issues finding sand in the bed, which was a common complaint almost every other weighted blanket had. I haven’t washed it yet, but we have a cat that likes sleeping on it and using the upholstery attachment on my vacuum has kept it fur free.I tried it and within five minutes I had to get out from under it. It was just too much for me and really bothered my feet to have something that heavy on them, regular blankets are fine for me. On the other hand, within five minutes my spouse was almost asleep for an afternoon nap, which never happens. You will either love it or leave it in our experience!11/17/18: thanks to a cat with poor litter box hygiene I had to wash the blanket. I have front load machine and washed it on gentle, as per the directions. I thought it might bunch up and not tumble correctly due to the weight, but it worked perfectly. And it actually dried faster than a regular quilt or duvet because the weight kept it from rolling into a ball. The cotton is a little less smooth than before washing, which is to be expected.

I love my Baloo blanket it’s cozy, hugs me and definitely cool calming.
Because of anxiety; having weight on me and being fully covered comforts me no matter the season. However due to these 3 digit temperatures the A/C is not cooling as it should and I wake up in a sweat throughout the night.I used Baloo blanket first day I received it and I slept so comfortable all night. It’s cozy, hugs me and definitely cool and comforting.I love my Baloo blanket

Not good for a 2-person bed
*update* customer service is AMAZING. They offered for me to try a different blanket at no additional cost. I chose the throw since the queen didn’t work for me (I bought the queen on sale, so the throw was actually more expensive). The throw is lovely and has color options. I think it is the perfect starter weighted blanket. Again I don’t recommend the queen based on personal preference but if you are on the fence, customer service is extremely responsive so it’s worth the gamble. This is queen sized but impossible to sleep with if you have a partner. the blanket ends ups all over the place since it is the size of the mattress top. The next size up would likely be too heavy/suffocating/hot for 2 people.

Helps with my sleep problems
I weigh 145 lbs and I purchased the 20 lb blanket. I was originally going to return it because it felt a bit too heavy for me initially. After about a week, though, I'm deciding to keep it. Yes, with another blanket on top it still does feel a bit over-the-top ;) however, sleeping with it by itself feels perfect for me. I'm sure when it gets colder in the winter I'll appreciate being able to throw another layer over it and still feel like it has enough weight. By then I'll be much more accustomed to the weight. The blanket is extremely well made. The stitching and threading is nicely done, and the 100% cotton fabric breathes well. I have a nice washed cotton duvet cover over it, which complements it perfectly. The glass beads do not shift around like they do in other blankets I have tried, and the blanket itself just feels high quality. I'm glad I paid more for a blanket that is made well instead of having had to deal with inferior materials, craftsmanship, and all the worries from annoying problems associated with badly made, cheaper, lower quality weighted blankets. When it comes to getting a good night's sleep, I don't want any nagging issues. I just want it to work. This certainly help with my insomnia, and helps me get to sleep a lot faster than I used to. A worthwhile investment for sure. I wholeheartedly recommend Baloo weighted blankets for quality rest and a good night's sleep. 5/5

So glad this necessity of life came to me
Had been thinking a bout getting a gravity/weighted blanket for a couple of years, but couldn't be sure which one to buy. Then I saw a New York Magazine web article "What's the best weighted blanket to gift" - it explains the features of 9 blankets really clearly - Baloo was their favourite and basically what swung it for me is that they said it wasn't noisy - (it isn't noisy) so I went for it.Full disclosure - I contacted Baloo to thank them for pointing me to Amazon UK for their product and they told me that they donate $5 to a childrens' charity for every posted review - I was going to review anyway - the donation has not changed my impartiality. So, after 15 sleeps I can report that I am delighted that I bought my blanket - it costs a lot of money, but probably no more than a luxury quilt - I think that it was money well spent. My sleep quality is better, I sleep longer and if I do wake up in the night, I'm finding it very easy to get back to sleep, when usually, once awake, I stay awake. And physically I feel more rested - not used to having so much energy when I first get out of bed.I had wrongly thought that I preferred sleeping under a light duvet - I am much more comfortable under the 20lb Baloo - the weight is spread , so it doesn't feel heavy, just comfy.Heat retention is interesting - even with the product material cover and a duvet cover - the glass beads are very good heat conductors - caught me out first time - I went to bed feeling cold and when I placed the blanket on me I felt colder, as my body heat was just being conducted away.Solution - if I'm cold, a summer duvet goes on first, then the weighted blanket. In the summer I intend to only use the weighted blanket. It makes no noise. The beads are retained in quilted pockets, so perfectly even distribution. Here is a forced negative, which is really just a fact - you can't do the duvet cover inside out trick to cover the blanket - well at least 20lb is too heavy for me to do that - you just have to take your time putting a cover on.There are ties on the blanket, which you could use keep the blanket in place if a cover had corresponding ties - but I'm not having any issues with the blanket moving inside the cover - even though the blanket is US queen sized and my duvet cover is UK king sized.Maybe one other thing - I don't set an alarm, as usually I'm awake early - twice now I've overslept - I'm glad I did and I'm looking forward to my next oversleep :)

Lovely, but very heavy to lift
I bought the 80 x 87” weighted blanket, which drapes nicely over the edges of my European double bed. BUT it is so heavy that I’ve reluctantly decided to send it back. It isn’t so much that the weight would be too much while sleeping, more that it is hard just to lift it on my own. I can’t rate the sleep quality or warmth but it feels cool and I’m sure the weight would be conducive to a great night’s sleep. It would also need a cover, especially as it needs to be sponge cleaned. It’s very good quality and soft, and comes nicely packaged. It does have a slight smell, though this will probably wear off. I am toying with the idea of getting a throw instead as I think I’ll be fine with a smaller size and lighter weight, and this would be more practical for me.

It really works! I love it!
This an amazing product!I was very hesitant to commit to buying a weighted blanket. I had seen advertisements and thought the idea was nice, but I was sceptical about whether it would actually be something that would be of genuine benefit. After a prolonged bout of anxiety I decided to give it a shot. I was certain I wanted a fully non plastic product and Baloo do exactly this. What’s more, it works. It actually, really works. I sleep with it every night. For the first time in a long, long time, I enjoy being in bed. I enjoy waking up. This blanket makes me feel so secure and give a sense of well-being I had forgotten existed. It doesn’t fix the stressors, but it does give me some genuine relief. This is a wonderful product - buy it above other weighted blankets.

Definitely recommend you get this one..
I have the beginnings of fibromalgia (diagnosed by specialist) and I have had sleep retraining with the NHS and it helped but didn't solve my problen of not sleeping long enough. I have been thinking about getting a weighted blanket for years but was hestitant as I didn't want to spend this sort of money on something and then decide it wasn't for me. I did my research and this came up on several lists of best weighted blankets. It took a couple of nights to get used to it - infact I started off with it just over the bottom of my legs and over time gradually moved it up. But now I wouldn't be with out it because I have noticed my legs and joints are no longer stiff in the morning and if I wake up during the night I easily get back to a deeper sleep again. I also definately have more energy. I can confirm it doesn't rustle at all and the material is comfortable. I bought the queen and had a wobble after purchase as I was worried I would have loads of material left over and there would be this huge blanket wall between myself and my husband (as he doesn't use the weighted blanket) - but I had no reason to worry as the material is very thin and just bundles up around me. I have also not had a problem with it falling off the bed due to weight. I highly recommend this blanket and if they had a children's option I would buy one for my children to help with their sleep.

Baloo weighted blankets have changed my life!
I honestly didn’t realise just how comforting a weighted blanket could be, my sleep feels deeper and I fall asleep without my usual restless legs. Weighted blankets are a game changer. What’s extra special about the Baloo brand is that there is an emphasis of being kind to yourself, other people and planet. The product highlights for me are:✨Oeko-Tex Cotton Certified✨Lead-Free Glass Beads✨Responsibly producedI know there are lots of other brands on the market, but I love Baloo values - I’m always happier to pay a little bit more for a product that is made with the triple bottom line in mind.I can sleep peacefully at night knowing my money is going towards a brand that is doing good and making me feel good.
