We had been feeding our 1 year golden retriever the Kirkland brand from Costco and noticed that she was going poop probably about 4-5 times a day. A ridiculous amount of waste, It was like it was going right through her. We switched her to the Merrick chicken and wild rice ancient grains formula and she’s only going once or twice a day now AND as a side benefit her coat is now GORGEOUS. Soooo soft and I feel like I don’t have to wash her as often either. She doesn’t feel as oily. Final conclusion: It’s a fantastic food a little expensive, but worth it for the furry member of our family. Just avoid the grain free recipes my vet has said grain free has caused a lot of problems in dogs. Hope this helps! God bless our puppies! 😊

We recently learned that grain free dog food is very bad for your dogs heart health. We have always loved the Merrick brand so we found this mix and our dog absolutely loves it. He also had the most beautiful shiny fur and the vet attributes that to this amazing quality food!

Dogs do need grains in their diets to prevent heart problems per the FDA. My Vet followed up with me to make sure I was including grains in my dogs diet. I told him about using this product and he gave it two thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼! Also, it does not contain any chicken, chicken meal, or chicken by products. My dog is allergic to chicken and as long as Amazon continues to carry this product I will continue to buy it from them. Merrick is a great quality dog food.Updated Review 10/6/2021: This dog food recipe has changed!!! No longer poultry free & has additional proteins too!! Added Chicken Fat & Salmon Meal!! I am furious it is not single protein from Lamb any longer! 🤬 Had been wondering why my dog was having diarrhea again! Merrick sold out to Purina, they have ruined this Brand. 🤬 should have left well enough alone, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!! 🤬

One of my doggos has a very sensitive tum and the other is a picky eater. Both have allergies and were paw lickers. I had them on Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomachs for about a year and I had to convince the picky eating to consider eating it and the sensitive stomach dog would barf it up or stomach acid up before or after eating. I changed them to this food very slowly and the picky eater has yet to refuse it. He asks for more in his little pitty way usually. And the other did have gi issues at first so I slowed down his transition even more. This food is more rich than they were used to so it is more filling. I found they need less of it than they did the Hills. Their coats are softer, they have more energy....which is supposedly a plus, the bigger guy has lost weight, and they have not been paw licking. I also have been noticing less allergy symptoms. Best choice I've made for my rescue pit mix babies.

Our last dog, a Frenchie, LOVED Merrick. I always liked it because of the ingredients and the company profile. Our new dog, and English Bully, likes the taste okay, but it makes his stool soft.

This is a great dry dog food i have a 3 year old labrador retriever and he has loved this food for almost 2 years at first it did take a little time for him to get used to this food but after some time he has finished his entire bowl every time. the ingredients in here are great and it lasts me awhile i would recommend this dog food to any dog owner looking for a more natural dry dog food for this furry pets

Previously I fed this food to my older Dacshund and he always did great on it. Recently, I noticed that my dog has been itchier than normal and I double checked the ingredients and saw there is chicken meal in this food?? I’m not sure if they changed the recipe recently but I have taken my dog off this food and found a better alternative that doesn’t contain chicken!
