30" Wooden Storage Chest - Handmade Amish Hope Chest - Storage Trunk with Anti-Slam Hinges - Solid Wooden Chest with Handles (Oak Wood, Asbury Stain, 30")

This 36" storage chest is quality made of solid oak wood. There are built in handles on each end so it can be picked up. The front and two sides also have cut-outs so you can easily open the chest from any side. The hinges are anti-slam so the lid stays up when you raise it. I ordered the Provincial Stain and the color is a beautiful rich brown color and is true to the pictures. It is varnished so it has a beautiful smooth finish. I use it to store all my blankets/throws. I debated on ordering this for a long time and looked at cheaper versions but this is a heavy, quality made chest. I would highly recommend ordering this. It comes fully assembled and packed very securely.

I needed a toy chest that would look nice in my living room but also match the existing furniture we have. Why spend all the money on nice bookshelves and entertainment centers then add a junky looking toy chest? I wasn’t okay doing that, so I decided to bite the bullet and order this handmade chest. I took a gamble on the Asbury Stain and it matched perfectly- couldn’t be happier. The size is perfect, too! Any hesitation I may have had before ordering completely disappeared when this beautiful chest was delivered and I saw it in person. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture and matches my existing dark wood furniture perfectly. I didn’t want to buy something that looked cheap and wouldn’t hold up, and this piece is solid, made with excellent craftsmanship; 100% worth every penny.As for my concerns about delivery, it arrived securely packaged and surrounded by styrofoam, with not even a scratch on it, and ahead of schedule! I feel bad for the delivery guy because it was not a light package. I let the chest sit in my garage for a couple days after it was delivered as it still had a slight stain odor, but that did the trick.Please don’t waste your time searching the internet for a nicely made chest that won’t fall apart for less than $400. Just go with this one, save yourself the hours of searching (I did that for you), and enjoy something you’ll be happy to look at everyday.

Everything I had hoped for! (That's a pun intended - hope chest) Sturdy, very well packed, fine craftsmanship and finish.Two suggestions to make it an even better experience: 1) The lacquer smell is very strong on opening the packing box, perhaps another 24 hours of drying time before boxing/shipping. 2) the Styrofoam packing material did the job of protecting the chest extremely well, but it's less than sustainable and now we have little beads of Styrofoam to clean-up.

I was looking for a toy box for our grandkids toys and stuffies at our house. Not only did we get a box in which to keep toys, we got a beautiful piece of furniture for one of our spare bedrooms! Absolutely love it!!

Everything about this trunk is quality! Solid wood, beautifully made, hardware works perfectly. Shipped in excellent packaging. I am totally pleased I ordered this!

This chest is very well built and looks great. My only complaint is that it seems a little pricey, by hey, maybe that's just me.I plan to use this chest to hold a few bags of pellets for my pellet stove (which is admittedly outside the design description) which means it will be holding about 120 lbs. or so, evenly distributed. Unfortunately, I did not see any weight limit stated in the description of the produce. This would be good for the manufacturer to add. I'll come back and revise my review if my use of this chest presents a problem.

This is a rare product that is of excellent quality and well worth the price. Rarely does anything rate this well with 92% 5-star ratings when I ordered this product. I confirm that the ratings do justice due to the quality of the product. It comes fully assembled and is very well packaged for shipment. There is little chance for damage during transport. The construction is very solid, made of solid natural wood with quality hinges. There are well-placed hand holes for moving. Very importantly, the color is exactly as indicated in the pictures. The chest arrived earlier than the promised delivery date, with total shipping time being 3 days. While there are both lower and higher priced chests of the same size, I suggest that you spring for this item over any lower priced chest, if that is at all possible. You will not be disappointed!
