Works Great For AT&T U-Verse At 50 Feet Away from Wall Jack!!!
I bought this cable to mount my AT&T U-Verse DSL Router 50 away from the wall jack. And it worked perfectly! In fact, my speeds are a little higher than they were when I used the original and shorter green cord that came with the router. The reason I needed this cable was because I wanted to mount the router in a central location in my house, and I wanted it mounted up towards the ceiling. However, my wall jack was 50 feet away. At first, I tried buying a regular 50' phone cord, but it did not work, because Ieven though could connect to the router with it, and my devices would see the router, I would get Internet connection errors messages. I later found out that this is because regular phone cords, when used for longer distances, are prone to interference from other electrical equipment. The regular phone cords do not have the proper shielding and wiring to isolate the Internet connection so that it is immune to these interferences. But this cord is protected in every way, even when next to several other electrical cords, such as power cords and Ethernet cords for my DirecTV and other devices. This cord has good wires, plenty of shielding, and a thick plastic casing. In fact, it looks more like a network cable than a phone line. It is built really well. So when I plugged this cord in to replace my phone line, all my devices worked immediately! My Firestick, my phones, my PC, and my tablets. Even my Ring doorbell and ADT security cameras. And when I did speed tests on my router, I found that I am getting higher speeds with this cord than with the original short green cord. Great product! Highly recommend.

Completely satisfied with this RJ11 cord.
This RJ11 cable replaced a cable that had been in use from around 1986. Thought it was time to upgrade! The cable I replaced was un-shielded, and so allowed all types of noise into the line. As I use DSL, I found a nice upgrade in speed (nothing too major, another 100 kb/s in download) which I can only attribute to the reduction of noise in my line! Besides the added performance of this cable, they also look really cool. The outer insulating material in the cord is transparent, which allows you to see the shielding, and hopefully would allow you to identify any breaks in the cord. You know the shielding is good, because these cords are STIFF. There is actually a good amount of metal in the shielding, so this is a great confidence booster. The connectors are not gold, which isn't a drawback, because the whole gold plated connector business is basically a money grab. Having a gold connector would really only benefit you if you were transmitting an analog signal, such as audio from a stereo to speakers, or a VCR to a television. Now that we've moved into the digital age, the signal is a stream of 0's and 1's, so during transmission, you either get the 0's and 1's, or you don't. The connection therefore either works, or doesn't work. In other words, it doesn't really make sense to talk about the quality of a digital signal in the same way you would talk about the quality of an analog signal. Don't get confused though, you do want all types of shielding on the actual cable. The issue is that there is nothing special about having a gold connector that translates into signal quality. Preventing RF signals from introducing noise into the signal, is a somewhat different issue. ANYWAYS, the connectors are metal, and sturdy as heck. This is useful if you have a complicated install where wires might need to be pulled through tight spaces (in between walls, in my case) as you can grab the wire by the connector and pull it through. For any real distance of cable, I'd recommend using a snake to simplify the task. PROS: + Quality construction, cords feel sturdy and strong. + Plenty of shielding. You can feel it in the stiffness of the cord. + Metallic connectors (not GOLD). Keeps the price down a bit. + See-thru insulating material. Looks cool, but also allows you to inspect the interior of the cord. CONS: - Very stiff. (could make for a difficult install...but it's worth it!!)

HIGH QUALITY DSL CABLE
I had an application whereupon I relocated the DSL Modem/Router (ARRIS Model No. NVG4438) around 40 feet from the wall jack. This cable worked flawlessly! Some of the reviews cite the cost of this cable as a negative, however, in this business you generally "get what you pay for". This type of signal (Digital Subscriber Line aka "DSL") is prone to RF electromagnetic interference and the longer the wire run, the more interference you will get because the cable is just one long "antenna" picking up stray electromagnetic waves that induce electrical currents that interfere with the DSL signal stability. The robust foil shielding in this cable provides a "Faraday Cage" tunnel which blocks the RF and electromagnetic energy from inducing stray currents in the signal conductors. For those interested - look up "Faraday Cage" to educate yourself on this electrical principle. THIS CABLE IS A "MUST-HAVE" IF YOU WANT A CLEAN SIGNAL FROM THE DEMARC (POINT OF ENTRY FROM YOUR ISP) TO YOUR DSL MODEM/ROUTER - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! FJT-OHIO

Great signal quality
A high quality shielded twisted pair cable like this one is worth it when you need a long run for a DSL modem. I was moving mine across a room, and first tried a straight RJ11 cable of this length but the modem couldn't create a stable connection at all. Once I replaced it with this cable, it worked perfectly and I'm getting the same speed as I was with the much shorter cable I used before moving it.

So with a baby on the way and the only point of entry into the house for our internet being in the future baby room we needed to find a solution on how to get the internet modems out of the room. But with living in great ol Canada we are still using dsl from the early 2000's. And anyone who has had DSL knows that the connection would never work with a phone line longer than 6 feet. So after reading reviews of people buying 25+ feet of this cable I went ahead and bought a 50 FT cable (The length I need) and I'd be lying if I was surprised to see the cable allowing my modems to connect and maintain a solid 5 mb download speed which was the exact same speed I got from the short cable that came with the modem. The cable itself is thick and seems to be good quality

A genuine 5 stars for the fact it's a genuine Legrand cable that is exactly as advertised. Shielded RJ-11 performant telephone cable, a perfect match for higher frequency VDSL2 connections.

I wanted to relocate my modem to a more centralized and open area so that the wifi signal is stronger for my devices. This fits the bill to a tee. It's a shielded cable so there is no interference, and with 50 ft., it has ample length for me to move the modem to the ideal spot. It works really well for me, and the black Friday price is unbeatable (even the list price is far better than what what my ISP would charge - I did casually ask my ISP technician and my choice to go with this was validated).

I've made lots of ethernet cables. Not sure is this Miswire is right or wrong, never done and RJ11 cable?
