Q: is the glass breakable?

Yes, it will break in a freeze.

Q: Is the center the solar panel? I'd like to add a floating sprinkler but not sure if it would block the solar?

Yes, the center is raised containing the solar panel. I planned on using the floating sprinkler, but it was too big for my satisfaction. I would've preferred a flat bottom bird bath...but the color is pretty at night, just keep it in full sun.

This bird bath is about 3 1/2 to 4 inches deep.

Q: I received peaktop 3206880 solar bird bath for a gift - it doesn’t light at night . The button does nothing. What to do?

YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE BOWL IN THE SUN FOR AT LEAST THREE DAYS TO GET CHARGED UP. THEN AFTER THREE DAYS PUSH THE ON BUTTON.. THE SOLAR PANEL SHOULD BE CHARGED BY THEN AND THE LIGHT WILL COME ON AT DUSK. YOU CAN CHECK IF THREE DAYS ARE ENOUGH BY TAKING THE BOWL INTO A DARK PLACE AND PRESSING THE ON BUTTON. THE LIGHT SHOULD COME ON -- IN THE DARK.
