Arm & Hammer Dog Dental Kit - Enzymatic Dog Toothpaste 2.5 oz

My 4 month old Golden Doodle absolutely loves this. She is the first pup to allow me to brush her teeth albeit they are half puppy teeth and half adult just starting to grow in. I wanted to train her young to allow me so I don’t go through the many expensive dental procedures I’ve encountered in the past for my pups. I use a very tiny amount of paste after wetting the tiny brush side. She enjoys me brushing her teeth and I let her nibble on it for 30 seconds after so she doesn’t fear it. Seems to enjoy the chicken flavor without any issues. Her teeth are sparkling white (which most are at this age) , and no issues at all with her breath. I also think the brushing soothes her gums right now as they are growing in. I use gentle pressure and give lots of kisses while doing it so she learns. I use this once a day at night when she is tired and ready for sleep otherwise she is too hyper and thinks it’s a toy to play tug of war with. I think it’s a great value for the money spent! My only caveat with finger cover is she really bites down on it and it doesn’t allow me to brush as well as the actual brush does. Overall I wish I had done this with my other dogs at this stage prior. I will continue with this routine and brand.

My cat really likes this toothpaste. It keeps her breath, smelling fresh. It’s super easy to use and it comes with two toothbrushes one with a handle and one for your finger. I find that the little toothbrush is much easier to use than the finger toothbrush. The toothpaste is not too thick and has a nice consistency. I like that there are no harmful ingredients. I think it works really well because my vet told me my cat has really good teeth for her age.

product itself is ok. although the soda smell is a bit strong for my cat and he doesn’t like the smell…

the dogs enjoy the flavor of the toothpaste well enough, and tolerate the brush fine. the angle of the brushes is good for getting into the dogs' mouth, but i would say the smaller brush is really only useful for very small dogs, i use the larger one for all my dogs from standard poodle to Pomeranian mix. the finger brush was basically useless for us, i threw it away on the first day. too hard and not very effective. you'd be better off just using your finger to clean your dog's teeth if the brush doesn't work for you

I have been brushing my cat's teeth for almost 15 years now. I started early with him so he is used to it and tolerates it, and he has always loved the taste of his different toothpastes, EXCEPT this one! You would thing my cat is dying, he hates this stuff so badly. This would obviously depend on the animal whether it's distasteful or not. The first time I used this on him, he started choking and gagging and drooling so bad it was running into his nose (I brush his teeth while he's on his back). I thought, "You're just being a difficult cat and aren't used to it, get over it." But we've had this toothpaste for several months now and I brush his teeth every week, and he still acts the same every time.

My cat hates this so so much. She eats dirt, ribbons, laces, ties of any sort, and she LOVES brushing her teeth (gnawing enzymatic chicken flavored toothpaste off a tiny little brush). She hated this new paste so much. She hated the smell of it. Kept walking away from me. Would not even try to taste it. Eventually I found an opportunity to get the toothbrush in her mouth. She immediately gagged and walked away but took the strip of toothpaste with her. She kept gagging on it and produced so much saliva there were white foamy droplets all over my floor. She kept walking around drooling for like 10 minutes.This is a picture of her after she settled down. Never giving this to her again.

I got this for my two year old Yorkie. He refuses to eat solid dog food and will only eat wet dog food, which isn’t the best for his teeth. I didn’t think he would like getting his teeth brushed but he did surprisingly well. I started off with the little finger brush, but that kinda grossed me out with the messiness. The tiny end of the toothbrush worked best. My dog liked the flavor and sat still long enough for me to give him a good scrub. Overall I’m pretty happy with it and would buy again. I can’t say how well it works yet as I haven’t had it long enough to tell.
