Piece of cake to set up
It's plug and play. A tip: the handles that loosen and tighten the adjustable blade rests are on springs and can be pulled. Something like re-gripping a nut with a wrench, just pull lightly, and turn to reset the grip. The wheel seems perfectly fine, and I don't plan to true it before using. The machine is quieter than a common coffee grinder, a lot quieter than a vacuum cleaner, so I don't see why the instructions go into "wear ear protection when using machinery". The instructions are written by someone to whom English is a native language, i.e. the instructions are not garbled or Google-translated. One thing they don't cover is how to measure an accurate angle for the rest plates. One more tip: (many with more experience than I probably know this, but ... ) you get a right angle thingy and line it up with the radius of the wheel. That will give you the tangent to the wheel surface, and from there you can measure whatever angle you want. The rests are very versatile, and I think can be adjusted to give you almost zero degrees (for a very fine angle bevel). It is not a fast wheel, and the one I got feels about like 220 grit or lower. As the instructions say, it is not for heavy duty, nor fast removal of metal. Oh ... the water reservoir will require a bit of peeking into to check the water level, so a flashlight might be handy. I wrote this because I'm happy with the machine, It is a bit better than as-advertised and very pleasing, consumer / hobbyist friendly. Plug it in, wet the wheel (as per instructions), and you're good to go sharpening. It might wake your dog, but it's very smooth and quiet. Very nice!

Works fine
As received, wheel was non concentric (high spot as wheel turned). Water runs over blade and rest plate while sharpening snd gets water all over table. Use a dish drainer pan or similar to place grinder in during use. Water well doesn't hold much so be prepared to keep topping it off. The machine works fine and wheel motor is reversible via switch.

you pay for what you get?
noisy! Wheel surface is roughly chipped into shaped by cavemen. it makes your blades bounce all over the place and unevenly mounted stone. Have to spent 2 hours to resurface the stone to really get some nice results on the knife! This is not for beginner wanting easy way out because learning curve is high. you must be good with your hand eyes coordination.

Stone wheel not round-bad enough to not be usable
Mine arrived with a stone wheel that was out of round enough that in made it difficult to use.Unfortunately for me there were several months between purchasing it and using it the first time. I opened it and checked it out but never actually powered it up and tried it.It would also benefit from a way to set specific knife edge anglesI expected more from Bucktool.

It works
The stone is a fine grit and it takes a little while to bring a dull knife up to sharpness, but should be good for preventive Maintenace on the knife once it is sharpened
