I had a very sick Persian Calico kitty named, Haylee, that I purchased the Fortiflora for out of sheer desperation along with some other supplements. She passed away this past winter at 12-years-old. This was after 18 months of constant emergency vet trips, regular vets, thousands of dollars spent on tests and second opinions. We heard she had everything from Kitty IBS, food allergies, pancreatitis, stomatitis, gastroenteritis from new kitty food, etc. Turns out, the final thing we heard was cancer. She hadn’t eaten in her own for over three months. I was blending her food to then syringe feed her, but nothing was working. She was just getting too sick.I’m getting off course here. The vets had prescribed a prescription probiotic for her at one point about three months prior to her death. She had been vomiting and getting diarrhea really bad. It seemed to help, but the prescription was short lived. I researched online. In both the IBS and Pancreatitis blogs (if your cat is sick, pet parents are an awesome resource... check out their blogs) FortiFlora kept coming up. In fact, my vetinarian even sold it in their RX Online Store. It was supposed to be safe. Haylee, my sick cat’s stools, were either very loose or the opposite: constipated. No in between. I gave this a try. We didn’t make it through the full month before she died. But, it did seem to bring her a little relief. The big benefit was if you have a cat with no appetite, this stuff is like kitty crack. Mix this in some soft food, and it will be appealing again, at least for awhile. I believe I remember reading it was the Brewers Yeast they like. So, in short, I did not have a bad experience with FortiFlora. I am glad I tried it. I use this product religiously for my cat Buddy who has kidney disease. He is doing great at this point, largely, in part to this probiotic (which my vet recommended). Got the product on time, early as a matter of fact. Healthy Pets highly rated, and have had no issues to date. I opened my current order, and the box was squished, but I thought nothing of it. Went to open it. The left side of the box looked as if someone stuck a thumb inside the box, as the small flap was bent in. The box was still sealed, so I opened it. The packets which normally (every time), are in the box facing side-to-side, were facing back to front. Like someone had stuck a thumb in and adjusted the packets somehow without breaking the seal. This made me a little apprehensive. But, we are going to use the product, because I only had 2 packets of my previous order, and cannot be without it for Buddy's health. I pray that there was no tampering with this item. I cannot get them from my vet....sadly she passed away tragically about 2 weeks ago. Yikes. Anyway, I wanted you to know about this 'questionable' appearance of the box of 30 (counted them) packets we received on Friday, August 3rd. Would like to continue ordering this product from you. Would appreciate a response if you have some knowledge as to why this box was handled in any way prior to shipping? Sincerely - Kim

I have a sick senior kitty with inflammatory bowel disease. Her appetite isn’t huge to begin with, but the major problem is she’s the pickiest. She hates the taste of her prescription kidney food and will go days without eating before resorting to it out of desperation. I know she’s just picky because she eats plenty of food if it tastes good. This stuff smells like Mr. Noodles chicken flavouring powder and she LOVES it. This has made her eat twice as much of her kidney food and that alone makes this product worth the price. I cannot attest to the efficacy as I haven’t seen a difference in her (frequent) vomiting, and this is just a probiotic to help aid digestion and not a cure for disease, but if you’ve got a kitty that doesn’t like the flavour of their food, this is an easy and healthy way to make it taste better for them.

- Beside the price and return shipping fee, this product is awesome for cats who need the special diet and refuse to eat. Keeping your cats hydrate is always a benefit for their long term health, our cats will drink all the water with this product.***Downside***- If you live in Great Vancouver area, there is a high chance your local vet will carry this product for same amount around $35 CAD ish- I believe the only way you can return this is to refuse this package when you pick up this parcel from Canada Post. If the post man managed to stick the parcel into your mail box (apartment) and you want to return this product then you will have to pay the return shipping fee.

I have a 9 year old male cat who is fussy and very picky. He does not notice this in his food and i have found he is more regular and has an easier time going to the litter box. He is on urinary track cat food too. he does not eat pate and only likes science diet, fancy feast and royal canine food. Anything else he sticks his nose up at. I find the litter boxes need more cleaning too but its a good problem to have. He has gotten his liveliness back and is more cuddly. It is a bit pricy but seeing him back to his old ways is great.
