I have installed this in my kitchen to replace a circular florescent fixture. Installation was a breeze! It took me less than 15 minutes to install.At 1610 lumens this is well bright enough to light my 8' X 10' kitchen. The color, 4000K, is a very nice white color with just a small trace of yellow.When purchasing LED fixtures there are 2 specifications that should be investigated:1) The light output, measured in lumens. The more lumens the more light. It doesn't matter if it is a "60 watt equivalent" or "uses 15 watts". The actual measure of light emitted is measured in lumens, not watts, voltage, etc.2) The color of light output is measured in degrees kelvin - K. A light rated at 2500K will be somewhat yellow and more like daylight. As the number increases the light color shifts towards pure white at around 6000K.

I had a simple round fixture there previously with little light over the cooktop. I’m a 60 yr woman and had absolutely no problem installing it myself! Was very easy for me. I absolutely love the bright light and did put a dimmer on it as my kitchen is open to the living and dining room. Apartment living. The white dome is a high gloss finish. I thought it was matt when I purchased it. But it doesn’t bother me, not at all. The brushed chrome matches the stainless steel appliances bang on! Been a few days. Very happy with them so far. 3000K is a nice warm light - not too yellow, not too white. Installs with four wall anchors and four screws. I didn't use the two at the mounting box because this older house didn't have them but it was fine. I used part of the cardboard from the packaging to trace the base of the light and make a template. Marked the four screw holes through the template onto the ceiling. Held it in place with painters tape. Worked great.

Was dubious about it being bright enough to replace the four tube, 4' long fluorescent light in our kitchen but given assurances that I wouldn't be disappointed we bought two. One for our approximately 10' x 12 ' kitchen area and one with a dimmer switch to replace another 4' long, four tube fluorescent light in the guest room that was suffering the same( will come on only when it feels like it) malfunction as the one in the kitchen. Not only does the one in the guest room light up the 24' x 12' room adequately but we put a dimmer switch on the one in the kitchen to eliminate the need to wear sun glasses when eating breakfast.Charles Leach

Simple installation. Attractive fixture. I replaced a 2 tube circular fluorescent fixture in my bathroom. Mounted to standard 8' ceiling this light puts out 180 footcandles at a point 2' away from light or roughly eye level for someone 6' tall. At that distance the light output would be suitable for a hospital operating room. The older fluorescent fixture had a 58 foot candle reading at the same 2' distance from the source. I don't have a color meter but I would venture that the 4000K rating to be accurate as the light is a cool white and should allow reasonable judgements regarding color for clothing or makeup.Mounting to an octagonal electrical box I needed to use the outermost screw mount holes and not the interior holes used for the older fixture. The plastic lens is a white translucent single piece that provides adequate light distribution from the otherwise very directional LED sources. You just remove the 3 metal cap nuts from the posts attached to the base of the light to remove the metal chrome ring and plastic lens. Attach the white wire to white wire; black wire to black wire; and attach the ground bare cable to the electrical box grounding screw. Having an assistant hold the fixture while you make the electrical connections is a help.

Bright! We have a kitchen about 16' x 12' with 2 ceiling light fixtures - one low-hanging above the kitchen table and another to illuminate the cooking area. This light fixture felt like there was a sun shining in out kitchen. So bright, it nearly drowned the second light over the table. Very happy with it. Installation was easy. Planning on installing dimmer switches and will see how well it dims. Overall - very happy so far.

I ordered this light to replace a hanging chandelier in our dining room that we use as a kids media room, and it's exactly what I wanted. It's bright without being overpowering, looks nice, and is well manufactured. I was able to install it myself, but I definitely recommend you have someone hold the light when wiring it up instead of trying to balance it on the top of a ladder like I did. After using it for a few months now I recommend changing the wall switch to a compatible dimmer switch because there are times it would be nice to have it on but not so bright, but all in all it's a solid unit. I actually bought a second unit for our laundry room to replace a cheap, contractor grade rectangular one.

The light suffers from a few flaws. The room it's installed in is an 11'x14' bedroom.First, it shines downward fine but very little of the light goes to the sides. The ceiling and upper portion of the walls (approx. 3' down) is a shadowy gloom. Which is amazing considering this light is 16". If they had designed the flat round panel, which the led lights are affixed, to instead be concaved, or curved like a contact lens, that probably would have helped tremendously. The warm-white led light is a little on the white-light side but is fine. The dimmer I have is a recommended unit, but the light still flickers slightly when even turned down only 25%.If you're in need of a good downward work light and have the room to install this, then I'd say go for it, but as a regular room light, no.

I purchased this product to install in our kitchen. Great product, easy to install, looks great. The light provided is bright and sufficient for our kitchen, and I installed a dimmer switch. The only negative I might offer is that the light given off is more yellow or warm than I prefer. I prefer a much cooler white light. If you prefer a warmer colored light, then this is an excellent choice and I would recommend it.
