Is this a saltwater lure?

I use fresh water bass lures in saltwater while targeting Redfish and speckled trout regularly. Just thoroughly rinse your gear (rods, reels, and lures) with freshwater after each outing and let them fully dry before storing them away and you will be fine.

Is it heavy enough to use on a 12’ surf rod using 50lb test braid?

You’d want a bigger one than I got. I use mine for bass 8 lb fluorocarbon freshwater

how deep is swimming depth? and what is the length?

considering that this lure is described as being a floating popper, I would think that, a priori, this lure stays on the surface. there are 2 sizes, but I think u are too stupid to be using lures! stick to worms!!
