Fear Factory - Obsolete - desertcart.com Music Review: The album is 5 stars, bonus tracks aren't completely - This was my first Fear Factory album that I ever bought, I just got it a week ago. I was intrigued by the band when "obsolete" was first released but never bothered to pick it up. I got around to it about 12 years later and I must say that this is a really talented band. I would say they're a cross between Ministry and Stabbing Westward. They have their own style that is very heavy though. Anyway, the album "Obsolete" combines the extreme pounding metal elements with the melodic industrial singing and electronics. It is definitely an album worth picking up but it's not for people that don't like their heavy metal with intense and harsh vocals in the mix. The bonus songs on here for me are a mixed bag: the Car's cover is brilliant, the other cover about the murderer is mediocre and stale (frankly, kind of stupid too), the track after that isn't bad but isn't anything great either, Messiah is a pretty solid track for only having a few verses, and Concreto has great musicality but the vocal style is grating for me to tolerate. For those of you who've heard rumors about this band being anti-God or Satanist, that's completely wrong. While they are atheist, they still think that spirituality is a good thing. When they write lyrics involving religion, ("Pisschrist was a bit over the top) they are striking at organized religion for inciting fear and changing the entire nature of the teachings of God. If you understand this, this album and other Fear Factory albums might make a little more sense. This a great buy for anyone who likes heavy metal or industrial music. The bonus tracks except for the Cars song i could give or take but the album itself is solid. Review: Fear Factory Limited - Great condition, sounds amazing.

Heck yea
Still relevant today! I grew up on this album and it still bangs. No issues with quality or delivery. The bass hit so hard I had to put my player on an elevated surface cause the speakers made it skip lol. It sounds great

Awesome Metal Concept Album!
When you think of concept albums you probably think Pink Floyd's the Wall, or maybe Queensryche's operation mind crime. But you probably wouldn't think a metal band could make a great concept album but let alone a death metal slash thrash metal band with industrial grooves throw in. Fear Factory are a band ahead of its time breaking some much ground with every album mixing fast thrash metal of classic thrash bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, slayer. With the death metal groove of bands like Napalm Death or Cannibal Corpse, mixed with the industrial moodiness of bands like Ministry and KMPM. And they blend all these genre well. The singer blended death metal growls with almost 80s style melodies on the chorus that would make Robert Smith of the Cure happy. Take that sound and mix it with a story or concept about machines taking over mankind, and mankind fighting back sort of reminding me of the terminator films. A very cool album blending all kinds of genres of music into a melting pot of awesome metal. Sort of a thinking man's metal band with a gripping story and awesome music to back it up!

Flawless
If you ever need to convince that one person that vinyl is superior to cd this is the album. The separation within the songs is amazing, and in-between tacks it's as silent as the grave. 10/10
