A medium didn't fit my Duch shepherd dog.
Update: amazon wasn't able to help, I sent a message to Dean and Tyler's website customer service, they were able to mail me an XXL strap they had for free. I am so grateful that I'll be able to walk safely with my guidedog again very soon.Old:The belly strap was small. I had my boyfriend measure my guide dog to for sizing, everything was OK. When it arrived the belly strap wasn't long enough, so it didn't fit my dog. The rest of the harness is great, but I can't use it because of the belly strap. I've messaged company through Amazon 2 times, but no reply yet. I asked for a large sized belly strap, I offered to pay. Just no reply, hope I don't have to return it. The last company I ordered from told me a week later that the item was out of stock. My guide dog needs a new harness so we can work safely, I am blind.

As a guide dog trainer I can say....
I have been training visual impairment dogs for 46 yrs. I have recommended many types of harnessing for my clients. I’m now working with a large GSD. This is a quality harness. I like the features of being able to remove the handle and still have a quality harness. Heavy full grain leather. My only complaint is the clips that connect to the handle are not as high a quality as the rest of the harness. This is probably the 20 th one I have purchased. And over half had had issues with the lead clips breaking. They do run large. The medium will fit the chest of a larger Labrador.

Beat for guide siege, not mobility
Not good for mobility

Horrid
so after a few months of hating this harness I decided to open the area that I thought was not only leather. In fact there is sharp plastic that is making up most of the harness. This gave my service dog a hard time with guiding me and I couldn't feel his movements well at all.

Thumb up for quality
The sizes run small

Great quality.
This is an excellent harness for mobility impairment. I have difficulty with balance. My only wish is that there was an adjustable feature for length. The cross bar is about 1" low for me and that causes me back pain. I am 6'2" tall.

Nice leather harness
It's all leather and the quality is pretty good. It was slightly larger than advertised so I'll need to have it remade to fit snugly. But I like it and would recommend it.
