Sandable Primer

I bought this paint to use on my car’s wheels. I really liked it, except for the fact that the paint isn’t shiny, but matte. The design didn’t turn out as I expected, but it’s still a good product.

I used this as an under spray for carbon fiber overlay onto fiberglass, and it worked well....the reason I used a primer and not "paint" is because primers come out more "dry" and it gave a pretty good surface for the CF to stick to well.

Absolutely the WORST primer on the planet! BEWARE! The spray nozzles malfunction, causing excessive messes! First can started hissing and spraying paint out the nozzle without the nozzle needing to be depressed, almost spraying paint in my face and eyes. Dropped the can and it burst, spraying paint all over my dining room concrete tiled floor, my wooden cabinets, and surrounding fixtures. Contacted Dupli-Color and their customer service representative was ignorant and refused to address the issue. Sent the employee near 40 photos of the mess and asked for help and the employee wanted me to play in the mess to get him more photos. In the end, the employee stopped contacting me and outright refused to help me. This is how major companies get sued.... it's called liability! Sherwin Williams , the owner of Dupli Color paints should be recalling this product for it's major issues!

Pretty good satin finish. Apply light then medium coats, let dry overnight, then rub out with 1000 grit and polish

Understanding that you need to use a dark primer for dark paints and a light primer for light paints, I needed a nice black primer for some DIY truck part painting so having used a lot of Dupli-Color and feeling comfortable with their products, I ordered this sandable primer. I was very happy that it comes with the adjustable fan nozzle and it was an easy use forgiving application. Easy to do light, medium or heavy coats and as long as you're careful, fairly easy to avoid runs. Fast drying and with a light sanding, can be smooth as glass for your color coat application. I highly recommend this product.

I use this primer (much better than rustoleum primer) for priming antique cast iron parts and repainting antique fan motor tags and badges. Won't wrinkle or orange peel if you clear coat over it.
