Other reviews have said it's too small for some modern knob sets -- I've just found that it's also too small for the circa 1890's knob set it was bought for. I wish they had included the hole's dimension along with the rest of the description. Would have saved time and agro.

The hole will not accommodate our standard (existing) door knob, it is too small.

Doesn't fit the modern doorknobs

The plate was bent and the finish was buffed off down to the raw metal beneath over aprroximately 1/3 of the surface. Whoever packed this item for sale let a clearly damaged piece go out for sale when it should have been scrapped.

This is exactly what I wanted for my 130-year old front door that I am refinishing.

Will not work with new door knobs.

Needed this to repair a door in 1924 bungalow and it worked perfectly and looks pretty!
