(Stage 1) TRUArt Wood and Leather Pyrography Dual Pen Set – 30W and 15W, Gourd (35 Tips, Aluminum Case, Two Pens, Metal Stencil)

I purchased this pyrography set as a replacement for the one I picked up at a craft store days before. The earlier one broke on my very first use, so I was not going to trust that brand again. This set by TRUArt is much better. First, the kit came with several warnings about why tips break in the tool and how to avoid this catastrophe. Now I know how to avoid my previous mistake I had made with the other brand (that never warned me). The booklet that comes with this TRUArt burner has great tips and tricks for beginners, and it provides a few sample patterns. Also, the case is keeps all of the pieces organized, and I like the small tin with the custom heads. The tool itself is comfortable and easy to hold without hurting or burning my hand. I'm very pleased that I have all that I need to learn pyrography. This is a great tool, especially for beginners!

I am a beginner in woodburning, just started several months ago. The first wood burner I purchased took quite awhile to heat up and even at highest temperature still required a good amount of pressure to burn the wood. While working on the ornaments I was making it began to bend. I decided to try the TruArt set. It arrived quickly which helped me get the ornaments done in time for Christmas. It is very easy to use, heats up quickly, and comes with a great variety of tips. The TruArt burner gets much hotter than my old burner so I do not have to use as much pressure. It also has a lower heat setting for leather that I have not tried yet but will report back after I have tried it on leather. It is a great price for such a quality set, I would definitely recommend this TruArt set.

Already owning some fairly high end pyrography pens, unfortunately left at vacation home some distance away, I found a need to 'wood burn' a gift project. I could have certainly managed to get by with a far less complete kit. However when considering the many posibilities that this kit allowed from branding letters, to soldering, to transfering patterns, to just plain pyography, in addition to a relatively sturdy and compact storage, it did make some sense to purchase.Some things I did like, the three position slide switch (off/med/hi) allowing one hand switching a hot iron, the lettering template. the variety of included tips, the selection of additional branding tips to purchase.I found this tool comfortable to use for a fairly long pyrography session, although a 'pen' of this type is certainly not as friendly for intricate work as a more spendy one, it does the job ptetty well with its relatively cool and comfortable grip.

TRUArt has been very good to me!I started off learning with an inexpensive TRUArt pyrography Pen and thought I could do with a ‘better brand’... it didn’t last very long before it just stopped working.My original TRUArt Pen was still going strong. Unfortunately I didn’t read the instructions and found myself with a broken off tip in the Pen.I purchased the professional kit sold by Pavel. He was out of the specific kit I wanted, but offered a really good deal in lieu of me waiting for production of the dual port pyrography set. I am super happy with it.However, there are no ‘stamps’ in the professional kit since it’s a different style altogether. So I purchased another TRUArt pen with the single screw in tips. It is great for detailing borders with specific stamps, replicating patterns, etc.It is a great learning pen as well as a companion tool for the ‘professional’ set. It heats up pretty quick for this style pen and has 2 settings depending on the heat required for your project. Super happy with these purchases!

This woodburning kit is SO MUCH FUN for a beginner! Explicit instructions and a wide variety of options for different effects. The safety recommendations are useful, especially for someone new to pyrography. My only frustration is having to wait for a tip to cool down before switching to another---but that is necessary for the integrity of the tip and personal safety. And the customer support is amazing! When I received my kit, it was missing one of the components. I emailed their team, and within a couple days Pavel got the piece in the mail to me with the tracking number provided. (Now I can't say as much for the USPS since TRUArt's 3-day shipping actually took a week!) Looking forward to honing my skill and expanding my set with more of TRUArt's products.

I am a huge fan of woodburning 'art'. There's something about working with wood as a medium, the smell of the smoke it creates, and the tangible, durable results that you get for your work. My 12-year-old son and I love working on projects together.When our current pen burnt out, I searched Amazon looking to upgrade. I was attracted to TRUart's product based on the quality of the pen as well as the assortment of bits offered. But what really swayed me was the instructional insert that TRU art has created as well as the metal box option.I received my product and couldn't have been happier with my purchase. The metal box was well worth the extra cost and there are almost too many bits to choose from. The instructional material was incredibly useful. In addition to tips on protecting my pen and pieces, there were detailed suggestions on how to become a better woodburning artist. My son immediately started discussing future projects and I dove into one that I had paused.I did have a question for TRUart and was skeptical that I would get a response given the COVID-19 impact on retailers. However, there was an individual's name and email provided in the kit and I gave it a try. Within two hours, I had received a response to my questions from the actual person listed in the instructional materials. I was amazed. A real, live proprietor committed to his customer's satisfaction. When does that even happen!?So I will remain a customer of TRUart and hope to see them grow. This sort of customer service needs to be everywhere and I would like to encourage others to shop with TRUart.
