I needed a timer for a mister system and this worked out fantastic.Super easy to program and set up, keeps great time. I have my misters kicking on for 10 minutes every 45 minutes,

Useful "appliance timer"
This is just an "appliance timer", which allows you to control the power for the device of your choice. If you happen to need such a feature, this timer appears to do a decent job of the task.In my case I got this to control the power for the "modem" my ISP provides for my home (as the previous timer I had for this task was finally dying after years of service). This allows me to schedule a routine "power cycle" (turn off, wait a short time, and turn back on) of my internet modem. Because of the scheduling features of this timer, it was most easiest to setup this timer to cut power for 1 minute the same time every night, and otherwise have the power always on. As my modem does take a minute or three to startup (when first getting power), this essentially means I have a few minutes every night when I don't have any internet. However, this nightly "reboot" of my equipment also means that at other times my internet is much more reliable (as my equipment is restarted every night to keep it running reliably). So by plugging my internet "modem" into this timer (and programming the timer to cut power for one minute each night), I've converted my internet from occasionally "crashing" without warning, into a guaranteed short nighly internet outage but one which also "crashes" much less often than it otherwise would. And the best part of this is that this "appliance timer" automates this routine maintainence, so that I need to do nothing beyond this initial setup (I just routinely have more reliable internet, at the expense of a short nightly internet outage)!NOTE: As another poster mentioned, this timer uses a 24 hour clock (vs the more common in the US 12 hour AM & PM time). While this may be an issue for some people that never learned about 24 hour clocks (in my case I don't use 24 hour clocks very often, but I did learn about them back when I was in school), this is still only an issue when you are initally setting up the timer's clock. However, once this timer is setup, it really works about the same as a timer that uses a more common 12 hour clock. So if you can get over the initial setup of this timer, you really shouldn't notice any difference than what you would get with a timer that uses a more common 12 hour clock.

Useful for many applications
Nice timer with many useful features. Keeps accurate time and the built in battery keeps time if the line power goes out.Useful for garden irrigation timer and grow light timer among any other uses you may have for a timer on a 110v line.Load capacity is decent, and suitable for most in-home devices. So far, I have only used this timer for running a lamp to simulate being home when I’m really not for security reasons, but this timer does so much more than that. It has other modes that haven’t found time to explore their usefulness.Biggest complaint for me is that it’s 24 hour (military) time only- can’t switch to am/pm display and that’s been a struggle for me as I have never done well with the 24hour format. Oh well, it’s given me an opportunity to learn a new way of telling time…so it’s taught me something.Instructions are written in “engrish” and although sometimes a bit hard to interpret, there are some handy step by step programming flow-chart style instructions that help you get the hang of dialing this thing in.Speaking of dialing this thing in, it has a beeper (I believe you can turn it to silent mode, although I haven’t figured that out yet) that beeps with every button press, so it may sound like you’re dialing an intergalactic phone call to another solar system while programming it. *beep-beep-beepity-beep*

No push pins for the times!
I like it. I don't care about it having military time, and I understand the logic behind it and it's not a clock I look at every day. Hopefully I won't ever touch it again! My other one always had issues. It was too easy to push the pins in and mess up the time if you needed to use the plug with it. This one will take up the whole space on the plug, but that was ok too. But it was easy enough to set up and I honestly hope not to have to worry about it. I have it mainly for light in the living room when I get up, so I want it to work, all the time. So far so good with this one.

Great value but tricky setup - watch the video...
Purchased this as a way to control the heating pad in my elder kitty's favorite nest. The pad is pet-safe, but runs at full bore whenever my kitty is resting on it, making for a bed that's rather hotter than he likes. I've set up the timer to cycle on 3 out of every 15 minutes at night, and it's keeping my boy comfy now. The combination of the pet-safe pad and timer is ideal for my kitty's needs, and saves considerable energy over other solutions.Programming the timer for combined modes was something of a learning curve, but I found the video that is attached to the product on the Amazon web site to be helpful, esp when it comes to the details of setting up and activation of mode 3. Watching it revealed the "trick" to getting the blinking bell symbol was to start the cycle timer _after_ starting the day timer. There's more, but reading the booklet that comes with first, followed by a careful view of the video, answered all my questions. All in all a very good value for the money that works well for my needs, and something I recommend...

very flexible
Vastly more useful than an "on at 9, off at 11" kind of timer. Lets you do stuff like on for 45 minutes, off for 30, indefinitely. Or on for 1 hour, off for 2, only between 3:00-12:00. More options does mean more complexity. But this goes well beyond the basics, works reliably, and the cost is reasonable.
