Chandler

Chandler was shallow and boring. Not a good page turner.
First, let me say that I have loved everything Laurelin Paige has written up to this point. And, I was anticipating Chandler's story like everyone else. But sadly, I found I was very bored with this book. There are 20 chapters plus an epilogue and the story line in the first 14 chapters is very flat. It's the same thing: rich entitiled guy and girl have sex, girl says it's nothing and guy agrees, then both start to feel something for the other. Chandler was one dimensional. I was really hoping for a jaw dropping twist but for me, it never came. The one "twist" that was revealed at the end of chapter 14 was somewhat transparent. When Genny mentions a new stepmom, I knew immediately who it was. This book was a very fast read (I finished it in about 4.5 hours) and just left me flat. The first 20 chapters occurred over about 3 weeks and then the epilogue jumped ahead 4 months and that's it.When I first read the books with Hudson and Alayna, there were so many layers to each character and the story line was exciting. The twists and turns left me gasping for air. I couldn't get enough of those two characters. Then, when Gwen and JC's story came to print, they were also exciting. Like Hudson and Alayna, they had many layers to their characters and you were always wondering what would happen when a chapter would end. And Chandler was more exciting when he was with Gwen than when he was with Genny. Even the short book with Norma and Boyd was hot. And First Touch/Last Kiss was amazing. I kept hoping for some big twist, but nothing. I've read Hudson's books and Gwen's books multiple times because I just love those characters. I can say I've read Chandler and once is enough for me. I look forward to Laurelin's next books, but I just wish there had been more for Chandler. Chandler reminded me of a bratty kid trying to impress everyone in a grown up world. I didn't find his "alpha" ways in the bedroom hot or sexy because every time he did something, he would then ask himself why he's behaving that way. Beating Genny with a belt was just abuse (at least the level he took it to - and Chandler says something to that affect). Hudson was a man as was JC from the first time I read about them. Chandler still has a lot to learn from his brother because he's still a little boy.On the bright side, I enjoyed how much Hudson and Alayna were in this book. And Mina is absolutely adorable. I liked that characters from the previous books (Hudson, Alayna, Mira, Hudson's parents, Gwen) were in this book. For me, this made the book bearable.

Loved!
Oh, Chandler. You stole my heart! This book was smoking hot and sweet with a little suspense thrown in. Chandler is hilarious. His internal dialogue was so funny, I actually laughed out loud a few times. He's a witty, sarcastic charmer who is used to charming girls right out of their panties but he's a one time only kind of guy until Genny comes along. Genny is a handful, take no crap, kind of girl. I adored her! These two together have amazing chemistry. I mean the pages were smoking! I loved everything about this story!

3.5 Huds' little brother finally finds real love stars
If you have read the Fixed Trilogy and the Found Duet (and I STRONGLY recommend that you do before you read this one bc this book doesn't rehash his back story; also note that this review will contain spoilers if you have not), you know Chandler as Hudson Pierce's little brother. In those stories, Chandler is a relatively immature 19 year old who, very contrary to his older brother, seems to falls in love easily. In the Found duet, he fell hard for Gwen who made it clear she was just in it for the not very good sex with an over-eager, quick-on-the-draw adolescent (so my question remains why). And according to the main character himself, he has since fallen for a few other ladies who have not reciprocated; thus, the now 24 year old spends his free time posing for TMZ and banging everything that moves without follow-up sessions to protect his heart. When he encounters Genevieve Fasbender, he quickly dumps the floozies hanging off his arm for the chance to escort her to her hotel room for an evening of what he believed to be some pretty outstanding sex (she came at least 3 times, so he obviously rocked her world as well). When he encounters Genny (as he nicknames her much to her chagrin) the next day at Hudson's office, she tells him that he really didn't do it for her. Chandler is equal parts infuriated and intrigued, which brings out a bit of a dom in him that never existed before... and apparently that's what does it for the little British wanna be media mogul. But while Chandler's love life finally seems to be on track again, Hudson informs him that he must choose between his new lady and his family as her stepmother is not permitted anywhere near the Pierces. How can Chandler make such an impossible choice? Is Hudson right about Genny's motives? Now that he has put his heart on the line again, can he even begin to think about walking away? What I liked:--- While Chandler's character was minimally involved in the Fixed series to this point, he was a focal point of the second part of the Found duet, and I didn't like his role in that story at all, so it was nice to get to know him a little better from his perspective to see what makes him tick--- Steamy goodness with an edgeWhat I didn't like as much:--- Was a little hard to take Chandler seriously as an adult at first because of his behavior in the earlier books - may have made sense to have him "age" a little more in another novel in the series before getting to his story so that the impression of the 19 year old quick-coming, over-the-top-with-Gwen Chandler was a little less fresh--- Felt too instalove for the situation, especially on Genny's part--- I was way off with the length of this book bc there was a novella attached at the end of it, so the story ended around 75% (totally messed up my pacing of the story in terms of where I thought I was in the story)--- Not up to par with the rest of the Fixed series, imo, so a bit of a let downOverall, a solid story with some mild BDSM elements that gave it a bit of an edge.Plot --- 3.5/5Main Characters --- 3.5/5Supporting Cast --- 4/5Steam Level* --- 4/5Violence --- mild BDSM elements (tied up, face slap, tackling to the ground, light choking)Language --- the f word makes appearances early & oftenPOV --- 1st (Chandler's POV)*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild; 2/5 - sensual but nothing descriptive; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere; 4/5 - yes please! ; 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

Waited so long for Chandler... but so worth it!!
It seems like we have waited ages for Candlers story. it was around August 2015 when I read Gwen and JC's story and I said in my review then that I couldn't wait for Chandler's story and here we are about 17 months on with just that.We have been so used to Hudson with his broody and almost serious ways that Chandler was defiantly a breath of fresh air, he was certainly less uptight he was witty and had a great sense of humour although he did come across as a little vulnerable especially when it came to the opposite sex and someone he thought he more than liked... It was quite endearing. When it came to Genny I was a little sceptical about her for obvious reasons, was she genuine, but as the storyline continued so did Chandler and Genny's relationship of sorts so you just went with it and all the while you can't help thinking here we go again... Chandler thinking she's the one, she did start to come across as genuine until Chandler noticed a couple of things but let them slide and then Hudson aired his views and dislikes add this to his anger towards Hudson and the thought of being betrayed... well he just rushed ahead and confronted Genny in front of everyone which wasn't the best move.By this time we don't no what to believe and poor Chandler you really feel for him, he's such a sweetheart and when he was spilling his feelings to his niece Mina it was such a lovey moment, talking to her as if she was his therapist she's only about 5 years old... brilliant!Aside from Chandler's love life there's the ongoing issue with his relationship with Hudson its always been a little strained or so it seems. There's a big age difference for one and he's always having to try to prove himself but a lot of it is probably his fault.. he's never taken things to seriously however all that's about to change... drastic measures are needed in more ways than one.Chandler not only puts together a brilliant proposal and impresses Hudson which is a first, he wins Genny over too, it's an anxious few moments but it all works out beautifully and that leads me on to the epilogue which was so lovely and full of that brilliant humour that we have had throughout the storyline!!Thank you Laurelin Paige..

Another Pierce to fall in love with!
Loved this book... Chandler, baby brother of Hudson. If you've read the Fixed trilogy then you really need to read Chandler.Chandler is a wide boy, just like his brother was. Until he meets 'the one'; unfortunately she doesn't want him! Chandler is charming, funny and once he met Genevieve he became a hopeless romantic, a true Pierce. I loved that Hudson had a few scenes too... The interaction between Chandler is Hudson had me in stitches. A truly brilliant piece of writing as Laurelin has brought this character to life.I love this authors style of writing, it's gripping, addictive and just draws you in from the very first page. She will always be a one click author for me.

Chandler..... God do I love Chandler!!
Laurelin Paige, you have by far outdone yourself!!! I have read the whole Fixed Series several times as well as Hudson (best book with a males POV ever!!) and can't forget Found Duet or Falling Under You!! and have had Chandler on pre-order as soon as it was available but I'll be honest, I was a bit dubious - after those books I didn't think it was possible to justify any more of the story/family by releasing more - boy was I wrong!!!! You have excelled yourself and you have made me a very happy reader!I fell in love with Chandler when we read about him in previous books, especially in the Found Duet! And he was just adorable and I really felt for him - he fell hard and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it 😢 Fast forward 5years and we have his story and OMG it's just bloody brilliant! He's adorable, he's a player and he has a massive heart who just can't help but fall for the wrong people... Thank the stars for Genny!! She's also a good soul, their chemistry is so in sync yet not!I loved it, absolutely head over heels without a doubt loved it!Highest recommendations for you to read it and although it can be read as a standalone, you are missing out on so much! Look up the Fixed Trilogy, download it and read asap, then do the same with Free Me & Find Me - you won't regret it!!Laurelin Paige, your a gem!!!!

A bit disappointing
I have loved all the previous books in this series. However I was disappointed with this one. Didn't have the same depth of character. It's a shame because Chandler was a character with great integrity in the Found Duet books, but in this he is portrayed as a slightly dim playboy. A Romeo and Juliet type novel but lacked a good plot. Could have been so much more. If you have read the other novels I'm quessing, like me, you want to read this to finish them off, but don't expect too much from it. It did of course incorporate previous characters so it was nice to know their progress.
