Absolute cheap garbage. I understand
Absolute cheap garbage. I understand, we get what we pay for, but this really takes the cake. Easy to assemble (that’s how it earned a single star) but the white plastic brackets that hold the shelving up are awkward looking and clearly visible. Feels flimsy. The plastic toppers/feet do not properly fit in the top/bottom of the unit (not even close). The cross braces on each shelf are on the top of the platform, so nothing sits evenlyx the logic on that decision is beyond my comprehension. Might as well return this because it is just awkward, flimsy and unnatractive.

Nice $10 shelf. Not adjustable, don't be fooled like I was- this is not $40 shelf.
It is functional. It is not a wire shelving unit like the others listed. It is not adjustable. In the box you get five shelves, along with sixteen interlocking very short poles. The bottom shelf is barely off the ground. (Can't even get a dustmop or duster under there let alone a broom or vacuum). It is also very very very thin metal in a coating that starts to come off when you put the poles together (because it is so thin and they are not shaped perfectly, so the paint/coating scrapes off as you try to get them to fit. If this were $20 it would be a fair price. $10 would be a good deal. The $42 and change I paid for it was beyond overpriced for what it is. The pictures descriptions make it look like one of the nice adjustable wire shelving units - it is not!! It is a good sized metal shelf. I put stuff on it and it is holding (despite one broken fastener). It is not well built. It is not sturdy. And it is not adjustable. If you find it for cheap, go for it. If not, I would not recommend it for the price.

Initial impression...this thing is cheap... actually its not that bad.
When you open the box you will find everything tightly packaged. There are 3 items. Tubes, plugs, and racks. Tubes feel like a 3 year old could bend them, the plugs are cheap plastic, and the racks feel like they will cave in.As I was building the Homebi I noticed the structure taking shape and getting more rigid and sturdy. Despite all the negative reviews the Homebi lived up to my expectations and is a fairly good product. Is it worth $42? No way. The material is no where near $40's good-- if anything it shouldn't be worth more than $25.Instructions included are 'okay'. At first you may have trouble understanding them, but after a minute or two you'll get the hang of it. If you're handy you can easily get the structure up in less than 20 minutes. Overall, I like the product and it satisfy's my needs.

Lives up to the cheap price
I didn't pay much for these shelves so I shouldn't have expected much and they lived up to that expectation! They get the job done though. The wiring on the shelving isn't always straight. I included a picture that shows that one of the wires is crooked on that shelf. Also one of the tabs on the little plastic pieces that hold the shelves was broken off. I still used it anyway because I discovered it after I was halfway through and I wasn't about to take it apart to send it back. Also, there is only one way the shelves can sit. Sometimes with other wire shelves you can choose if you want the "lip" on the shelf up or down. Not with this shelf. They will only sit one direction and that's with the lip down. You also can't decide on the spacing of the shelves. There are grooves where the plastic tabs fit and those are the only grooves where you can put the shelves. They were fairly easy to assemble and work in my closet just fine. But I wouldn't say these shelves are high quality or amazing in any way. If you want some cheap shelving that will be just OK then this is it.

Don't believe the high ratings
We received these 5-tier wire bookshelves today. We are very disappointed in the quality of the product: While the concept of assembling them is easy, poor-fitting components made it quite a challenge. When finished, they do not stand vertically, or even in a straight line from top to bottom. They seem flimsy, and ends of the reinforcing “zig-zag” wires are not welded to the frame, but are open and rough. We had to pound on the shelves so hard to seat them into position that the thin plastic “feet” on the bottoms of the uprights broke and collapsed into the uprights. We have purchased locally and used shelves similar in design on several occasions, and have been pleased with them. As we compared the thickness of all components, and finishing details, it is easy to conclude that we would never recommend them to anyone. Rather than being used in our guest room as planned they will be relegated to the garage to hold very light objects as long as they last.

See how to assemble the clamps for sturdy shelves rack
I think that people, beside the people that have poles without holes or unaligned holes on the poles, are assembling these incorrectly due to lack of clarity on the instructions. The plastic clamps need to be covered by the round cylinders on the corners of the shelves, this is not clear on the instructions. I seen a few photos of the plastic clamps under the cylinders. Since the clamps didn't go in easily I used a hammer to hit the corner of the shelves (very carefully) until the cylinders covered the clamps, once you do this it is very sturdy and holds up very well. Looks like it holds a lot of weigh. Please look at the photos of a similar unit and how the clamps go into the cylinders.

Definitely not worth $40+
I just read a similar review that this is a $10 shelf, not a $40 shelf and I wish I had seen that before purchasing. I could have gone to Home Depot and spent at least half the price for the same type of shelving. It is not sturdy, but should actually work for what I need it for. I'm just remorseful that I spent some much money on something that was not worth the price.

Worthless.....
Worthless! This would have been the 4th one of these shelving units I have purchased. All previous units have leveling screws built in wether it was using the wheels that come with (and in this case did not) or if you don't want to use wheels, leveling screws or "feet". This one..... plastic screws on the bottom of the cylindrical legs.If you have use for a shelving unit that you don't need level, this my be for you - otherwise, forget about it - get a good one somewhere else.
