Works like a champ! Easy to setup on WIFI! I plugged it in to an outlet in my office, setup the WIFI, setup my account and put in my e-mail and phone number. Took 5 minutes. I then unplugged it and boom - I was notified. Now that it was working, I plugged it into the GFI in the garage. I like the bright green light. I can see it is on when I drive in to park. It was a great purchase, well worth the money.

I bought this to monitor my garage freezer. It works great and does exactly what I want. I receive a text message and email if the power trips. It have a lot more piece of mind knowing my food there won’t go wasted. I have 4 stars because the setup wasn’t as easy as I expected. I think the instructions could be improved to break down the steps further with more images or a link to a video with a step by step tutorial would work great as well. It took me a little while with troubleshooting but I eventually got there.

This is an awesome product. It's one of few I found that will notify you if you have a power outage when you're away from home. Most other products I found are Smart plugs for use with a single device.MySpool works perfectly for our needs. It's affordable, and I discovered you can even configure the message that's sent to you via text and/or email.We highly recommend it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this product because I needed a straightforward solution for our sump pump, which is on a GFI plug. A few weeks ago, the pump stopped working, not because of a power outage, but because the GFI had tripped. While we are well protected from power outages, a GFI issue is not something I had considered, and if we happened to be away and not hearing the alarm, disaster would have ensued. The MySpool Power Failure Detector was easy to set up, and extremely reliable in our testing. Very highly recommended for peace of mind. A+++

A little confusing on the directions, had to guess where some of the settings are. After getting it setup it appears to work well. About 15 seconds after loosing power a text and email are sent and about after a minute when power was restored the email and text message go out. Nice to know when I am out of town if the power goes out I will know. I keep my modem on a ups so when power goes out the Spool will have time to text me.
