Easy way to enjoy an ipod wherever you have an FM Radio
Ordered the product from Amazon, and it arrived really fast, and in perfect condition. Thank you, Amazon.I was a little skeptical about ordering this product, for two main reasons: First of all, it did not carry a brand name I knew of, and being so inexpensive could very well mean it was just another cheap gadget from China. So far, I have been pleased by the performance, appearance and ease of use of this device, so I do not regret having purchased it. The Second reason was, as many people know, different iPod/iPhone models require different connectors in order to charge and operate properly. Anyway, the charge cord wan just an added value to the product itself, and since it seems to work, at least with the Nano, I will not complain. It comes with a 12V DC car terminal and a 110V AC household outlet adapter as well, so you can take advantage of it in either case.As of the time of this review, I have already tried this device with a 2nd gen Nano and a 4th gen Touch and both worked just fine.FM transmitting is a little on the weak side. I can get decent reception if I keep the iPod on or around the dashboard of my car, or within 5 ft of my clock radio, but if I take it any further, say to the back seat, I can immediately notice some static and even commercial broadcasts taking over the frequency. Since I live in a big city, pretty much all the FM spectrum is taken by some station, but I guess in rural areas that should not be an issue. Also, I am trying this on the stock radio/cd of a 2007 Ford SUV, so it is not as fancy as an aftermarket unit. Anyway, those with upgraded car stereos, most likely have an iPod option or Aux-in jack to use a better-quality wired connect ion with their iPods. This transmitter draws power from the iPod itself, so the iPod playtime will likely be impacted and also that could account for the low transmit power of the device itself, but I could not see any difference in transmit range/power when I plugged in the power cord. The tuning buttons are very straightforward to use. Just press "+" or "-" to choose the FM frequency in your FM radio. There is a +/- 0.1 MHz step so you can broadcast from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz with this transmitter. A digital blue-backlit dial shows for a few seconds the frequency you chose, so it is really easy to tune in the appropriate one on both, the transmitter and the FM radio receiver.I just can't tell about reliability or life expectancy for this product, for I have been using it for only about 3 weeks now, but for the price, and other attributes I just mentioned, I feel pleased for having made this purchase, and would definitely buy another one like this for my wife's car.

Price went up, but it was the best $5 I ever spent!
UPDATE 10/2/13It looks like the price on this device went from $5 when I bought it, to $35 + shipping as of 10/2013. At this price point, this transmitter is too flimsy and cheaply made. If you're gonna spend $40 on a transmitter, I would spend my money on something else. This is a good deal at $5-10...maybe $15. However, anything more than that and you're overpaying.I changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 based on the new pricing for what you actually get.__________I was a little hesitant about getting this transmitter because it was so cheap, but decided to give it a try since if it turned out to be a brick, I wouldnt be out much. This little guy is the best $5 I have ever spent!! The fact that this is a USB car charger alone makes this worth the money. The FM signal is also exceptional, we were traveling through an area where the preset station had been playing a song, and as soon as we plugged in this baby, the radio station was completely gone...no static, no half radio-half ipod...it was all ipod, and the reception was clear, it almost sounded like we had a CD in. In the past, I have spent up to $50 on radio transmitters only to return them because of any number of reasons, but not with this. I have only used one preset so far, so I'm not sure how the other stations sound, or even how many others there are (but I guess that's a good thing). Now for the bad. This FEELS like a $5 device. The power is not hardwired directly into the ipod dock/transmitter, and the connection is pretty lose, so it's fallen out several times. Also, it would have been nice if this plugged into the 3.5mm jack as well, since I can only use it on my iphone and not my mp3 player (this isn't really a knock, since it's supposed to be for an ipod, it's just a feature that's lacking that would have been nice). Other than that, the only other thing that was a little annoying is that it came in just a plastic bag with no instructions. The setup was pretty easy and intuitive, but some people like to have things explained step-by-step.PROS:- CHEAP! - only $5- Great FM transmitter (better than some more expensive ones I've bought)- Also acts as a car charger on top of just transmitting- blue LED on radio turner, so you can see what your preset is at night- The car charger portion has a usb input, so I'm thinking I can charge other usb devices there (not tested yet)CONS:- not great construction, charger jack keeps falling out (ipod dock/transmitter stays in fine)- lacks features for non apple devices (not a huge con, since it's not advertised as a universal FM transmitter)- no instructionsCONCLUSUION: Throw out your $50 Belkin and buy this...NOW!
