Review of 2 stainless cover products
I purchased 2 rolls of stainless look vinyl. I wanted to cover a coffee bar area that is next to my stainless refrigerator. Because the area is counter depth i was looking for covering that was 22” or better. But I didn’t find it. I did find Con-Tact Brand Faux Stainless Metal FX Creative Covering which was 18” deep x 6 feet long, and thought I would use something a little cheaper for the 4” at the back. So I also purchased Symoden 15.8” x 78.8” Silver Dtainless Steel Contact Paper. My pull-out shelf area is only 18” deep so I started there with the Contact brand. It was easy to apply and can be repositioned. However it is a little more dull and plastic looking. Then I started with the Symoden product at the back of the other shelf. While it is much stickier and a little harder to place, it is also much thicker. Over the painted wood surface, it looks much more smooth , which is more realistic for stainless. So, I went ahead and used the Symoden product for the front of my coffee bar also. I’m leaving the Contact on the pull out shelf for now, even though I’m not as proud of it, as really no one but us sees it. However at some point I will probably replace. If you have a really smooth surface, the Contact brand will probably look good, but on bare or painted wood the grain just shows through. Also while both brands have bubbles that have to be smoothed out, the bubbles on my Contact area keep coming back, while the Symoden remains smooth. This is probably due to the stickier backing of the Symoden brand. I would definitely buy Symoden again and recommend it over the Contact brand.

YOU NEED SERIOUS PATIENCE TO APPLY
This requires some serious patience. It’s tedious and not so easy.1) bubble galore. You really have to find a method that works for you when applying, and even then it’s still difficult And won’t get completely bubble-free. I used a credit card and pressed as I laid, little by little.2) the adhesion is mediocre. It doesn’t stick to anything aside from the surface of typical appliances. It doesn’t stick to the handles or edges. I was hoping to wrap my entire dishwasher, but I can only do the facing.3) again, bubbles.4) it sticks to itself so easily and is so difficult to unstick once it’s stuck. Pull back peeling with caution.Overall, It “does the trick” if you can get past the work to stick it.

Buy! Inexpensive and does the job!
Ordered an extra package to cover my other countertop. Love it. Easy to apply as well.

Pretty pearly white contact paper but returning
I planned to use this to update my bathroom sink countertop for my rental since it is waterproof and easily removable. Its a pearly white color. It’s slightly off white and I love the specks of glitter in it. It seems thick and durable. My issue with it was the super high gloss because it makes it look a little fake - I know it’s not going to look like granite but I’d like it to not look cheap. I tried to take a close up picture of how the glossy finish looks because it’s got sort of a wrinkled look to it? It makes it obvious it’s contact paper and I think that’s fine in some circumstances like in lower light areas but I think I would chose a matte or purposefully textured contact paper instead since there’s lots of glare from light in my small bathroom.I never applied it so I don’t know how that process goes with this one specifically but I researched it and most people say to use windex for proper placement and heat with a hair dryer for removal. It looks in other reviews like after applied, the glossy finish still has that wrinkled fakey look to it.

Great for kitchens but tedious
Rolled too tightly by manufacturer to protect application, causing cracks and creases folded onto each other. Causes lots of waste per roll. Order with the anticipation that you won’t be able to use a whole role. Perfect amount of shininess and easily masked mismatched appliances. Thick paper and great adhesion- had some trouble with air bubbles regardless but it’s best to work in small sections outward with a towel and in small line formations with a ruler. This is the length of one entire roll (picture). Not super forgiving (second pic).

A tangled headache
Once it came off the roll it was hard to deal with, the adhesive was too sticky and if it sticks to the other part of the roll forget it just throw it away.

Not worth the money
Not easy to work with, heavier than it looks. Super sticky, hard to remove and re place.

Disappointing
This stuff is quite thin, and a total pain to install. I was expecting it to be more like a vinyl wrap, and to be able to use heat with the application, but that was not the case. And yes, I have applied vinyl before, this was a whole different experience. More over, despite how clean the item may be, it has issues with adhesion, and is already peeling up for some areas. I still have 2 rolls left as I was anticipating doing more projects with it, but now I will likely just line drawers with it or something.
