These might be the perfect pencil. 0.9 lead is thick enough that it doesn't easily snap if you press too hard. The barrels hold a lot of lead and it has the side button gives you the quick easy-advance. The grip has textured rubber so it doesn't slip when you're sweating through a math exam.The best part of these pencils, though, are hands-down the huge soft eraser. Its soft enough it doesn't tear the paper and erases easily and they are massive, so they are useful a lot longer than those little nubs on the old style mechanical pencil.These pencils got me through grad school, and they are still my go-to.This package comes with two pencils, two bonus erasers, and a pack of spare leads.

Lead quality is great, writing is so easy and smooth. The value to money is equal. The pencil does tend to smear, and the pencils are round and thin.

These are the best mechanical pencils I have ever used. Super easy to load - slide the top part with the clip and eraser off, drop in lead (I have the piece being used plus 6 extra pieces inside) replace the top. Done. To get more lead out while writing, there's a click button on the body of the pencil that's easy to reach with the thumb, rather than clicking on the top like most pencils. Rubber grip stops fingers from slipping as you write. Best part is that the eraser is visible - no removing any cover to get to it. And it's a very decent size - each one is 1&1/2 inches long. Simply turn the piece at the very top of the pencil to extend or retract it. So many positives! The pack has two pencils, two EXTRA erasers (both come with an eraser attached.) The ONLY downside is that each comes with on one piece of lead inside the pencil and the refill pack has only 6 pieces. If you use this heavily, I do suggest buying extra lead. Any brand works, just make sure it matches the size of the pencil! This one - The 5mm is my favorite, but if you prefer a thicker lead, the 7mm or 9mm are just as terrific!

I got these Paper Mate Clearpoint mechanical pencils for school, mainly for taking notes and doing multiple choice tests, and they’ve been great so far. The 0.7mm lead writes smoothly and clearly, and I haven't had any issues with it snapping during long test sessions.I really like the side click to advance the lead since it’s quicker and less distracting than clicking from the top. The grip is comfortable during long lectures, and the erasers are big enough to actually use without running out right away. Plus, the extra lead and erasers included are super handy.Funny side note: one of my classmates accidentally took mine thinking it was his because we had the exact same pencil in the same color. We both stared at it like it was the Spider Man meme. I might need to put a label on mine now.Only minor complaint is that the eraser sometimes twists back down when you're using it, but it’s easy to readjust. No big deal. Overall, solid pencils for anyone in school or taking lots of notes and tests. Definitely recommend for students.
