DEPO 444-1506R-AS Replacement Passenger Side Parking Light Assembly (This product is an aftermarket product. It is not created or sold by the OE car company)

Looks almost exactly the same-- see photos to compare. The original BMW/Bosch housing is on the left, and the Depo version is on the right. The plastic tabs are actually stiffer than the original, and it's is a bit brighter than the original, but that might be just because compared to the old housing, this one is brand new and hadn't had years of road grime build up.The only thing that was noticeably cheaper were the rubber boots that go on the top and bottom vent holes. See the photos for reference- The original BMW boot is a 90 degree angled nice looking piece. On the Depo version it is just a couple of tubes that didn't really stay on that well. I reused the original BMW pieces--one was a bit loose, but I used a little contact cement on both of them to make sure they stay put.There are two prongs that hold a metal leaf spring to tension this part into place-- one of them broke on my original light and it kept popping out going over bumps/potholes or when I was going fast. (note red arrow in photo, it points to part that broke on my old light housing) It was loose enough to make me worry something else was broken and this new part might not stay in place. However it fits great and very snug--I don't think there will be any problems with it popping out.Easy to install, just look at it from the side-- there are two prongs to hold the leaf spring, and two more that go into slots on the car. You might need to wiggle it up and down a bit, like a boat riding a wave, but once you do, it snaps right in and the fit is great.I didn't use the included bulb or socket, I just reused the original BMW socket, and it fit perfectly in this new housing.4 stars--might have gotten five if it weren't for the cheap "boots" but what do you want for a price that is 1/4 what BMW charges!

Plug in for the bulb needed a little persuasion but overall the product works and is a great value for the money.

The assembly would not slide into my 2000 e46 without replacing the flat spring that sits between the two prongs with the one from my OEM assembly. The supplied spring was too strong and separated the prongs too far not allowing them to slide into their opening.

The bulb socket connector is defective and will not snap into the BMW's connector. It is not slotted for the one tab that the BMW connector has. I just used my old socket from the previous turn signal lens housing.

Not exactly OEM but def does the job

First of all, I did manage to successfully install this assembly but with problems. I bought it primarily because it came with a bulb socket as my old one has metal fatigue and simply would not keep good contact with a bulb. As I tried to connect the new socket to its counterpart I realized that the metal contacts were totally out of place. I tried to use a screwdriver to move the contacts into place but realized that were barely attached to the plastic housing. and were loose. Moreover, the contacts on the new socket are much thicker than the original ones, which means I will not be able to go back to any OEM socket (having forced those fat prongs in) unless I also replace the receptacle.The contacts for the bulb inside the socket are extremely cheaply made, I doubt this socket will last long.The plastic housing itself is OK, but it is not constructed the same way as the OEM (despite the claim in the description) ones and was kind of difficult to insert into the right place, as I had to depress the spring loaded prongs to make them slide in.

Easy installation for someone who doesn't do much of this kind of thing. I usually get the dealer from whom I bought the car new to do most of the work on my 2000 323i, but in this case I felt like I might be able to handle this one without having to schedule an appointment. The installation was really simple (once I watched a few YouTube vids on the subject). Great experience!
