MAVALAStop Discourages Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking, 0.3 Fl Oz (Pack of 3)

I give the flavor a 1 star because of the bad taste it leaves when I do attempt to chew my nails. For all purposes of preventing me from biting my nails, this is a great product. I have a nail biting habit that I can't kick, but due to the bad taste, I am able to keep my nails out of my mouth. I have seen great improvement using this.

This WORKS!!! I am in my 30s and could never stop biting my nails until I tried Mavala Stop. I tried another similar product in college which wasn't nearly as strong and actually left a big coat of product that I loved to pick off - not helpful at all. I'm so glad that I looked into this again and wish I found it 20 years ago! You will definitely not bite your nails with this on. Just a nibble and you'll be reminded to stop - if you keep going for it (nails or fingers near them), the taste will get even worse (yes, it's possible) and that'll be the end of the biting! A few months ago I bought my first bottle and applied it about every other day to keep the taste strong enough to work. My nails immediately started growing out and I loved them. I thought that the habit was kicked, but unfortunately the nails got bitten again. I've stocked up and realized that I need to just keep using this. Fortunately, it's a very nice clear coat that I like wearing and could wear forever.The only downside to using this product is that I get a bad taste when I floss my teeth. My solution, which my husband recommended anyways, is to floss first, then brush my teeth - the toothpaste gets completely rid of the taste of Mavala STOP (which isn't horrible when flossing, just rather unpleasant).Update: If I don't wear gloves while shredding meat in the kitchen, this can ruin the taste of the meat, especially if I applied the polish within the last 24 hours. Well worth it! Highly recommended!!!

My boy had been chewing his nails forever. Last dentist visit I mention it to them and they recommended this. Outstanding! Even when we forget to apply it, his brain has been trusted not to bite them because of the nasty taste. Just know pool/ beach activity will minimize the time it lasts. You'll know though because the nail biting will begin again. That's when I tell him to put more on. It's nice when you can still get what you pay for. Good stuff.

I purchased Mavala Stop for my nine-year old who is a very persistent thumb sucker at home but not in public. We used it when she was younger, but she was not motivated and it was, therefore, not effective. I would not use it on a child younger than five. It needs frequent reapplications (i.e. every two-to-three days) secondary to hand washing, baths, etc. In less than two weeks, she stopped sucking her thumb. It has now been about a month and we are still using it, albeit less often. I am uncertain of the long-term effectiveness for her, but I'm hopeful that we have stopped the habitual behavior. We have attempted several other methods of breaking the habit (including an application inserted in the mouth) and none have been as effective as Mavala Stop. I have been applying it less frequently and I have not seen the return of the sucking. I will give it five stars when I no longer have to apply Mavala.

Used this when my daughter was 3 to help her quit finger sucking- she stopped for about 6 months. We moved (and I think that triggered some stress) and she started up again but this time she claimed to not mind the taste and continued to suck her fingers. She's now almost five and we're on our third round of using this product (after unsuccessful attempts with mittens and a finger guard) and it seems to be going well. I hope it sticks this time! Also don't let your kid reach into any containers of food while wearing this- your food will then taste like the nailpolish! Bleck!

Works amazing broke me from my habit within a week I highly recommend this

After been using it for a week on my daughter's nails, I been noticing the quality of the product to the price tag Not even close to worth the price Tag it holds.Explanation :usually, if you go to any dollar store to buy a Nail color or clear Nail protection, for example, it last at least on your nails for a week with toping it in between.This Nail Biting formula yes it does have a bitter taste since I tried it myself! but we have been noticing after applying the product it's only last not even to the end of the day, that means if you want it to stay on your child's nails! you have to apply it 3 times a day at least.Also been noticing kids like to eat with there hand and fingers most of the time, so the formula will dissolve with the kids' saliva each time they put there hand in their mouth.I bought the 3 pack which cost me a lot & if you ask me if it worth it! I will say definitely No.Not when you have to apply it none stop during the day like water that vibrates in the Air after applying it.We will keep using it since I have 2 1/2 more bottles.I am not seeing any improvement in growing the Nails since it doesn't last for even one day.Keep it in mind when you purchase this product!The company need to make it thicker and not water it that each time you wash your hand it's goes away!Very unhappy!!!!

Works brilliantly although the taste can end up everywhere but it stopped my daughter biting her nails

My 18 months old daughter stopped sucking her thumbs after 3 days of using a very small amount on her nails, and she used to constantly suck her thumbs since 6 months old. Very satisfied!
