I've tried a couple different brands of peg doll families, and although these aren't perfect, they're my favorite so far.Good points:--Some other brands have "mom" dolls with a curvy body and narrow base. Unfortunately, that shape tends to be top-heavy and it's easy to knock the dolls over. I prefer the mom dolls in this set because they stand up more securely and the shape is easier to decorate.--This set has boys and girls the same size. Some other brands have only big girls and little boys, which limits the variety of families you can make.--This set has 10 each of every size/shape, unlike some other brands that have more babies than anything else.--The wood is a very pale color, almost white, so you can decorate the dolls with permanent markers and the colors won't look distorted. (Since marker ink is transparent, light colors like yellow either don't show up at all on darker wood or look dull and dingy.)--For the most part, the dolls are sanded silky-smooth and are ready to decorate right out of the package.Not-so-good points:--The dolls aren't very uniform. If you line up all the ones that are supposed to be the same shape and size, you'll notice that the heights are uneven and the heads are different shapes.--Although the quality of most dolls is good, there's a doll or two in every package that has a noticeable flaw: a big chip or gouge, a lopsided base, etc. Of course, natural wood products are never completely uniform and flawless, so if you absolutely must have 60 absolutely perfect dolls, you'd best buy two packages so you can weed out the less successful ones.Another point to consider:--Since the set has twice as many child dolls as adult dolls, you either have to make a bunch of large families or end up with a bunch of leftover children. You can buy more adult dolls separately, but since this set is a little smaller than some other popular brands, like Woodpecker (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017DOVWDY/?coliid=I2ZD5M6DV3TI10&colid=38RG0M356TJ7E&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1), dolls from other brands might look out of proportion to the dolls in this set. (Or, come to think of it, you could make miniature families using the bigger children as parents and the babies as children.)Assuming the assortment of sizes and shapes will work for your purpose, this is a good set overall and I recommend it.

It would be super hard to screw these up, so the lost star in this rating is not about quality. However, the mix of sizes was HORRIBLE. They were not an even mix, in fact there were only 3 of one size and then 24 of another and the rest were just as odd of a mix. I kinda wanted to make sets and couples but here we are with a super weord mix of types and sizes. kinda lame, but also 🤷🏻‍♀️ will not be buying from this seller again.

I'm new at making peg dolls and this 60 count pack seemed like a great deal. I was able to make all the pegs I needed and then some. The only issue was size, I wish they offered these in larger sizes! Or that you could choose the exact size and type you need.

Solid wood. Easy to paint. Such fun painting family members and friends with my kids.

Worked well for project, well made.

The large ones are a little smaller than other peg dolls, but these feel really smooth with slight variations in shapes. The small ones are slimmer than other brands I’ve tried.
