Spread 'em
This worked perfectly to help spread and reset the pistons in my brake calipers while replacing the brake pads in my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder last weekend. Very easy to use and would buy again and recommend for anyone who is looking to replace the brake pads on their own car on their own.

Not as sturdy as I thought it would be.
I used this tool for what it’s was made for, is to push back pistons on car or light truck brake systems.I thought the ratchets was a little flimsy but it got the job done. You get what you pay for.I’ve seen more expensive brands in Auto Zone parts stores made a lot better, but the price was $50.00 dollars plus tax. It worked well for the price. I didn’t break it ah..ah..get it. I’d tell a buddy to buy one. If your thinking why I just wouldn’t loan a buddy mine. Because most of my buddies don’t like giving tools back afterwards.

Brake Jobs Made easy
I waited way too long to buy this. I love it.

Easy upgrade for me
In the past, when I did brake jobs, I used a C clamp to compress the brake piston. It always worked, but the one end of the C clamp I put on the back of the caliper never really seated level on the caliper. The caliper just isn't flat enough, and I was slightly concerned that a slip could damage the hydraulic line to the caliper. I also had to use an old pad to sit across the face of the piston, upon which the other end of the C clamp would seat. This product changes all that. It is a reversible ratchet unit, with opposing "pads" roughly the size of a brake pad, and it levers off the opposite side of the caliper, not clamping onto the back like I was doing. It works wonderfully, and seems well built, so it should last. Perhaps not an absolutely necessary item for home mechanics, but still very recommended.

Poor quality, good idea. I wouldn’t buy
This is one of those tools/products that you research and research and then you think you picked the best choice and when you get it you realize how crap the quality is. On the first use, one of the plate that pushes against the piston broke (the weld broke off). And then unless you have a large amount of friction pushing on the plates for the brake pads, the ratcheting mechanism is useless. You move the ratcheting bar back and forth and it doesn’t ratchet. It just goes in and out. The idea was nice. Poor execution. As a reference, I am an ASE master mechanic and Mercedes Benz master tech. I own everything from Craftsman, Harbor Freight Tools, and up to Snap-On, MAC, Matco. This has the quality of a real cheap harbor freight tool. I just used it again today and wish I had never bought this.

Works great for front. Not so much rears
4 stars. Works under tension will spin unless u hold it taut. They dont squeeze enough for rear brakes. U can angle it and force it to squeeze and it will get it enough so u can readjust as its supposed to to finish the job.Cheap enough to keep but I wouldn't buy it again.

Excellent tool! Wish it collapsed a little more.
This thing is killer on front brakes on anything, rear brakes with larger calipers. A Honda Civic's rear brake caliper is too small for this to fit when reduced as much as possible. Still love it, saves so much time and effort.
